I wake up to a strange ringing in my ear. After a few seconds pass, the ringing starts to turn into the voices of Jaron, Eledina, River and someone else. After fixing my hair, I get up and make my way outside and start heading in the direction of the voices. When I get there, I see that a new person has been added into the mix. He is the same height as Jaron, and the both of them together tower over both of the girls. He looks a lot like River, but instead of having golden skin and midnight blue hair, it is flipped. His hair shimmers golden in the sunlight, and his skin would've made him invisible in the night.
"Eledina?" I speak out. She turns to look at me and greets me with a smile.
"What is it, Alejandra?" She asks me.
"There's this ringing in my ear, I think it might have to do with the translator," I let her know.
"Let me see." She takes the earpiece away from me and examines it before returning it to my ear. "It's just the translator transmitting the Ursan language into your brain. After some time you won't need the translator anymore and you'll be able to understand us just fine." I nod and hear Jaron laughing in the background.
"We might have never heard of your species before, but I never thought you could be so dumb," he tells me.
"And maybe, you should learn more about my species before running your mouth," I tell him. He doesn't respond but his friend can't help but laugh at the situation.
"Josh, shut up," Jaron says, trying to get Josh to stop laughing. Suddenly, the girls come out of the tent, and when Josh spots Blanca his breath hitches in his throat. Blanca doesn't notice this but comes up to me while rubbing her ear with her translator in her hand.
"Can you guys shut up? It's making the ringing in my ear worse," she complains. I go up to her and place the translator back in her ear before doing the same to Adrianna.
"They say its normal for there to be a ringing in you ear, I got it too," I inform them. They just nod and look at Eledina, who confirms my response.
"Well, now that you're all awake, I was wondering if you would like to join us for breakfast?" Eledina asks us.
"Yeah, I don't think our parents would mind if we got home at a later time," I tell her. Blanca immediately sends a glare my way, and I'm pretty sure it is meant to bury me ten feet in the ground.
"Excellent, we'll let you pack before we leave," she tells us. I nod, then turn to walk back to the tent to gather my things. The girls are right behind me, and after some time Blanca finally catches up to me.
"Are you crazy?" Blanca asks me.
"Yeah," I say, unconcerned by the glare she's giving me, and continue packing my sleeping bag away. "I thought you already knew that. Plus, the point of this trip was to find out about the existence of aliens. Now that we have proven that true, don't you think we should learn more about them? Like, why this planet is so much like Earth, or why their skin is a different color?" She just sighs in defeat and starts packing her stuff. "Anyway, its just a quick breakfast, it won't take that long."
After we finish packing everything and make sure we don't leave anything behind, we meet up with Eledina and everyone else. They are standing in a half circle, and when I look behind them I see the outline of a strange object.
"So, Eledina, where are we going to have breakfast, and how are we going to get to said place?" I ask her. She turns then scoots over, giving the girls and I enough room to join the rest of them.
"My mother wants us at home soon, so I guess she has breakfast set up, and I already asked her if three more people could join us and she said it was fine," she lets us know. "As for getting there, we're taking the carriage."
