"Airie!"

I smiled in recognition of that voice. It was Salli!

She ran towards me whipping people in the face with her long black hair. Actually, she looked sort of scary with her bright hazelnut brown eyes, wild hair and over the top enthusiasm.

"Hey!  How were your holidays! How you holding up? I heard there is a new guy in our school! Something Blakes! Oh he might be your new next-door neighbour. Word is that-. OH MY GOSH! How much has your hair grown? Airie it looks so-"

"Stop." I told Salli.

" First of all my holidays were crap. Didn't go anywhere, stayed home like a good girl and studied! Second, there’s a new guy? I need details! Fourth, lets not talk about my hair okay...its not really in a very good condition right now" I said stroking my slightly dry hair.

Salli smiled at, a bright cheery smile. The kind that makes you want to hug the person.

"Okay all I know about the new guy is that he a super wow factor. He is in Maths bonus and English Literature. So both of your classes, which means he is smart. Don't ask me how I know all this, I just do." she said, slightly calming down. We headed towards out first our first class- Physics. Ill spare you the details.

"Wow I never knew that my desk had so many chewing gums underneath it! 36 to be exact!" my never shutting up friend trilled. " Salli, hurry. Maths. You know we have Mr Birsque." Mr Birsque happened to be my plump, bearded, strict maths teacher. Getting on his bad side would lead to detention for the rest of the month. Of course I never actually have been to detention, but I can't say the same for Salli. I briskly walked with Salli to the red buildings at the end of the oval.

5 minutes later I was slumped in class, slowly twirling my hair and reading through my notes when I heard the sound of footsteps. I suddenly froze wondering who dared to come late to Mr Birsque's class. I waited. Any time now." And May I ask why you are so late, Mister...?" came a deathly voice

"Blakes. I am sorry I was lost" drawled a rich, dreamy voice.

I suddenly looked and nearly choked on my own spit! "Warglglgl" I sputtered. The boy standing next to Mr Birsque was all 6 feet full of "wow-ness". His hair was golden blonde and made his white smile seem even whiter. He had enchanting forest green eyes that casually roamed over the whole class, not even casting a second glance at me. He raised his hand called out a gruff "Hey" and slumped into a seat two rows ahead of mine. Everyone was as dumbstruck as me, which was the only other reason I could muster for the girls drooling mouths and guys open mouths. That guy is my neighbour! 'Score Airie!' I thought to myself but then realised the guy hardly gave me a glance. He was going to ignore me like all other guys did. Sigh* He was so good looking that even Mr Birsque had fallen under his charm and had not uttered one cruel word against his lateness. Wow, now that was achievement!
