"Now you add three tea-spoons of seasonal" I said as Mrs.Kay went through her spice cabinet. "then let it fry for about fifteen more minutes!"
"this is going to be really sweet!" She exclaimed. "could you take the cornbread out of the oven?" I nodded and opened the oven door. I slipped on my mitts and pulled the pan out.
The sweet aroma of the muffins spread through out the house. just the smell in the air made my stomach growl.
"how much longer Hannah?" Jase called from his seat on the couch. they were watching 'Ice Road Truckers'.
"bout fifteen boys!" I yelled to everyone in the living room. All of the girls- Missy, Jessica, and Korie- were out shopping, well except for Sadie. She was in the kitchen with us. John Luke, Cole, and Reed were in the basement playing video games. COD I think...
BEEP BEEP BEEEP
there goes the timer. Mrs. Kay shut it off and turned the burner off. I took the mini venison steaks and laid them on plates with paper towels -to absorb the grease- for them to cool faster.
"DINNER!" I yelled. everyone piled into the kitchen.
"That looks really yummy." Jase said.
"thanks... I'll holler down to the boys." I walked to the basement door and walked down to where I was visible. "Hey y'all, dinners ready." They looked up at me and nodded.
"were comin'" Cole said.
I walked back up and saw the girls back from their shopping spree. I already met everyone. they all came in while I was making the muffins.
"I hope y'all enjoy. This recipe was handed down from my great great grandma Georgina. Eat up!" Everyone grabbed a plate and filled it up with food.

"Wow Hannah! Your quite the cook!" Jepp said while taking a sip of lemonade.
"thank you! it isn't to spicy is it?"
"No, you hit it with just enough!" Jase replied.
Everyone was sitting down at the table enjoying their meal. John Luke was sitting to my left while Si was on my right.
"I'm glad y'all like it." I said while finishing my helping of venison. "now, I'll take care of the dishes. come and put them in the sink when your done!" I excused myself from the table.
"You shouldn't be doing that! let Cole do it!" Jase said. "You worked hard to fix it."
"Yeah, so I need to clean it. I made the mess didn't I?" I retorted.
"Fine, but next time you're not gonna win so easily young miss." He said in all seriousness.
"doesn't mean I'm not gonna win" I whispered as I passed Cole. luckily he only heard me and he chuckled. winking his way I made it to the sink.
