All At Once

Chapter 2

Rocky's POV

Oh my lord Vanessa is back. What the hell? I've  had a crush on her my whole life. She has always been that beautiful girl who lives next door. Of course, her family moved right after she went to college. And I haven't seen them since. Except for Laura , she basically lives here. We all think her and Ross are going to get married and grow old together, and maybe have two kids.

Laura, Vanessa and Rydel come walking through the house, greeting us all on their way past. Eventually, making their way up to Rydels' room. Me being the annoying little brother I am, I followed. All the way up the stairs, and down the halls where all of the baby pictures of my siblings and I hang. As soon as they shut the door, I walk faster only to hear their gossip. after Laura leaves the room, I lean my head on Rydels dark brown door, with her name written in sparkling bubble letters. I begin to walk away, when I see Laura coming. But before I do, I trip and fall on the wall, knocking down all the pictures in front of me.

Rydel and Vanessa open the door and Laura comes running to me to see if I'm ok. I quickly stand up and start to put the pictures back on the wall. The girls join in and help.

After Vanessa gives me a glare and starts talking to me like a mother would. "So what were you doing outside the door? Your room is all the way down the hall."

"Well I found a good opportunity to find out things I shouldn't know. So I took it and it would have worked out perfectly, if Laura hadn't of come lurking around the house like she always does." I stop to give Laura a glare and she glares back. We have a love hate relationship.

"What did you hear?" Vanessa sorta ask/yells at me.

"Well only the fact that you and Riker have some big secret that went down before you left for college." Laura gives Vanessa a questioning look as Vanessa looked as though she was going to kill me. "And I thinks its time for me to go." Rydel rapidly shakes her head and I walk back down the hall into the living room, where my brothers were talking about Vanessa and Laura. That's all Ross, Ryland, and Riker like to do when they come over. "What are you freaks talking about?" ask as I plop myself on the couch next to Ross. Ryland sits on the ground as well as Riker. "Nothing." Riker says looking back at the screen. Him and Ryland were playing Black Ops 3.

 "Come on! You guys don't tell me anything." I whine. They never do, I think I'm trustworthy. At least, a little bit.

"Yeah we don't, because you tell everyone everything!" Ross yells rolling his eyes soon after.

"Ok, true but just tell me I really want to know. I won't tell anyone."

"Fine ok, but you can't tell a single soul." Riker starts but then continues his game. After a few moments, he pauses the game, anf Ryland give him and aggravated look. "Four years ago, Vanessa and I were a "thing" but that was it. And she broke it off when she went to college. Ok? that's all."

"I don't think that's all." I tell him." Earlier I heard Vanessa talking to Rydel about you. And she sounded really... serious."

Rikers POV

What does he mean by serious?

"What do you mean by serious?" Ross asks for me.

"Well, just... serious, I don't know." Rocky explains.

Well that helps. Maybe I should go and talk to her.

"Riker maybe you should go and talk to her." Ross says breaking the silence.

Its like he's reading my mind. I guess I should go talk to her. I mean if there is more to our situation, maybe it would be good if I knew. I nod my head slowly at Ross and stand, handing Rocky my Xbox controller and walking up the stairs. When I reach the top, I walk all the way to the end of the hall to Rydels room.  I knock on her door to find it swing open with Laura standing there, a disappointed look on her face. Gosh I wonder what happened in here.

"What do you want?" she asks in an aggravated tone.

"I just wanted to know if I could talk to Vanessa? If that's ok with you guys." Laura looks back at Vanessa who didn't seem to be having the time of her life.

"Nessa, Riker is here to see you." Vanessa gets up and walks towards the door. Laura moves out of the way when Ness goes walking through shutting the door behind her.

"Can we talk in my room?" she nods her head, and we walk back towards the front of the hall, right by the stairs is my dark door, with my name written on it in blue stickers spelling out Riker. I open the door, and let her in before I go. She sits on my bed like she has been in here a million times. I sit next to her and start to speak, but she cuts me off.

"I have something to tell you." she has a disappointed look on her face. "I didn't leave for college because I wanted a good education. I left because no one would have accepted me for what I had done. And I stayed at college for what happened after. I was... pregnant, but I had a miscarriage..."
