I didn't know if my dad was in the shop and I didn't want to take any chances. I climbed the tree outside my window into my room. I opened the window and I hoped I didn't make to much noise but when I pulled back the curtain I made one of my wooden figurines fall to the floor. Crap, he has really good ears, he definitely would have heard that. I jump into my room pick up the figurine and place it on my table near my bed. My dad hadn't run into my room or anything so I guess he isn't home... I'm not taking any chances though. Suddenly I felt guilty, in a way, for not telling my dad. Maybe it was just that i needed comfort from him? Yes, that's definitely it. Ever since I was little I had always seeked comfort from him. He was always like a mom, even though I never had one. I poked my head out the door an looked into the dimly lit hall. Little by little I walked down the hall with my stomach getting tighter and tighter. I finally reached the opening and my stomach felt like someone was banging on it consistently. I peeked around to corner and to my surprise I saw someone standing there, but it wasn't my dad. They had their head turned to the salt vase. What are they doing? Where is my dad? I didn't have time to think, I pulled my head back around the corner out of sight while I thought of what I should do... What should I do anyways?!? Don't freak out... don't fre- "Hehe" That was my dad's voice! There is no mistaking it. "What are you laughing about?" That had to be the other person but they had more of a female voice than I was expecting. "Oh, nothing." My dad said. I think he was hinting at me to do something... but really though, WHAT? Where is he eve- oh my glob, he is in the salt, isn't he. Sigh, what do I do? I, I... I know what I need to do. This isn't going to be fun for me. I put my head up and I took one step and another and before I knew it I was just at where the hall ends and the shop starts. I had to... I strongly walked out to the shop and I saw the red haired person turn around. "Who the devil are you?" He said starting to stand, staring at me in confusion. "The better question is, who are you?" I say back at him trying to be confident with everything I have. I didn't want to show weakness. "I am Grell Sutcliff." He moves and I can see my dad in the salt with only his head out. "I'm (f/n)... he is my dad." I point to my dad sitting in the salt. His face was kind of shocked but then straightened out. (A.N. *cough* unlike him. *cough*) "You're his daughter? Don't tell me you are also not afraid of reapers." "Reapers?... well I haven't put to much thought into that." Giving him straight forward answers was probably the best way to handle this. "Is that why you stuck my dad in a vase of salt?" He paused. "Yes..." "Dad are you Okay? Did he hurt you?" I asked my dad devoting the attention in the room to him. "Oh yes, I'm fine." He finishes with a smile. "Well, you don't seem all that bad." He says looking at me. "Wha-" "For a human." He finishes. What does he mean by that?!?? Change the subject, change it now! "You, know you look a bit like my dad." I say he looks at me confused "I mean your hair is long and I bet if you wore a wig and his outfit..." he still looked at me confused. Not a bad kind of confused though. I went and got another one of dads outfits and hats from his closet. I came back out and put the outfit on the counter and I reached up and placed the hat on his red head. "Put these on, then you'll see." He threw the outfit over what he was wearing and looked into a nearby mirror. He was still not saying anything. "I don't really have a wig... but..." "That's okay, I have this." He pulled out a brush and combed through a bit of his hair and all of it turned grey. "Wow. That's pretty cool." I messed with his hair a bit. he looked in the mirror again. "See." I looked at him through the mirror. "You where right." Why I chose that to change the subject... I will never know. I walked over to my dad. "Okay, you need to explain exactly what happened later." "Alright, but first go to your room and quick." "Bu-" "Now." He looked at me seriously. "I need to go to my room now Grell... It was nice to meet you." I walked back down the hall and opened my door. I walked inside closed the door and fell on to my bed releasing a sigh of all of the air I had held in from doing that.
