There were a million other ways he could have spent the weekend, but Kerwin was more than contented on how he was spending it now.

"You're so cuddly and clingy for the past few days. I don't think I like it," Jewel grumbled in his arms, her words muffled by the blanket he threw over them last night. Her back was against his chest and she was clutching one of his hands like her life depended on it.

She was being clingy too, and he loved it.

He grinned and pulled her closer to him. "I'm always cuddly and clingy, and you know you like it."

Jewel turned to face him and placed a kiss on his collarbone before burying her face in his neck, her favorite spot. "Fine, I like it. But not when I have an early shift for work. Three consecutive days of tardiness after I got back from my leave. The head nurse wasn't too happy about it."

He savored her giggle as he placed tiny kisses on her shoulders. "I could buy the damn place if you want me to. Then you wouldn't have to worry about your grumpy supervisor."

"I don't think a civilian can buy a government-owned hospital."

"Then I'll buy you your own hospital."

She shook her but smiled affectionately. "Arrogant, cocky and extravagant. Why did I ever fell for you?"

"You were smitten by the sight of me riding my Harley in my Armani suit. Admit it, you find it hot."

"Self-absorbed too." She pushed herself off him and sat up. "Get off your sexy bum. I'm starving; you cook."

He wiggled his eyebrows suggestively. "Am I not scrumptious enough for breakfast?"

A pillow hit his face as she walked to the bathroom. "Cook something good, then maybe I'll consider having you for dessert." She winked at him before closing the door.

He got up and tried to turn the knob, but she was wise enough to lock it. "Can I join you in the shower first?" he called.

"No!"

He made his way to her kitchen and started preparing her favorite pancakes. Eggs and fresh bananas for protein. Bacon for their much-needed fat.

It's been two weeks since they got back from Pangasinan. They stayed there for another three days after he arrived, and he got to get to know her family, three times larger than his own. They welcomed him like he already belonged.

Thrilled by the fact that he was the first guy Jewel introduced to her family, he behaved throughout their stay, sharing a room with her and her other cousins without any monkey business.

When it was time to leave, however, he took advantage when one of her cousins volunteered to drive her car, since she agreed to ride with him. Instead of taking her home, he drove them straight to Nasugbu, Batangas, where they made up for those five days of being away from each other.

"Promise me we'll do that again next time," she said on their ride back home after their week-long impromptu vacation under the sun. She developed a tan, a lovely shade that he loved to rediscover every night.

Now it had been a week with him camping in her apartment, spoiling her with his mediocre cooking and unparalleled love languages.

"Smells good." A pair of arms wrapped around his torso as he was flipping a pancake. "I could get used to weekends like this."

"Let's have the next weekend in my place. My unit misses your presence."

"It's a date."

They had a quick breakfast then he took a shower, while she volunteered to take care of the dishes.
