If you can't tell we love Sirius headcanons so here's another.
Sirius and Peter were actually really close. Sirius would help him with his girl problems. When Peter struck out and felt bad Sirius would tell him stories of his various failures with girls that he hadn't told anyone before. Sirius didn't want Peter to ever feel lonely because all of Sirius life he grew up feeling alone and didn't want anyone else to ever have to feel that way.
