Headcanon #9 and #10

Sirius Black was the one who decided the marauders needed nicknames. One Saturday Sirius spent the entire day making a list of nicknames they could use. Sirius was so excited to show the others his list because he worked so hard on it. The list looked something like this:

Remus: Wolfboy, Wolfy, McWolfster, Brainy, Smartstuff, Wolfman With a Plan

James: Stagman, Swagstag, Loverboy, Jamesypoo

Peter: Ratboy, Tiny, ratty, Ratatastic

Sirius: Hot Stuff, Sexybeast, Supreme Leader, Eye candy, Grim, Dog of Death (which James changed to 'Dog Breath')

While Sirius is showing his list he will point at one like 'Loverboy' and say "Get it! Get it! because James loves Lily, do you get it guys?". He did this for a few of them. Remus, Peter and James thought the names were awful but could see how proud Sirius was of his work so they told him they loved them all so much and asked if they could help him come up with more. Remus and James ended up being the ones to come up with the nicknames they actually ended up using but every once in awhile James would call Sirius Hot Stuff and they'd all start giggling like the immature boys they are.
