The shore was as bleak as I felt. The sea swirled leisurely onto the rocks a few feet away from where I stood, flooded by memories. I let everything that had happened since I came to Athens play through my mind. The best moments of my life yet, all reduced to ashes. Gone, like smoke dissipated by a breeze.
I wished I could be like the blue sea in front of me, quietly observing everything that had happened since the birth of Earth. I took a deep breath, unhooked the chain that hung around my neck and looked at the crystal at the end as though it could give me the answers I was looking for. I was about to ignore everything the one person I could call my parent and guardian had taught me. I didn't care about running for the sake of survival anymore, even though the existence of the enemy had been confirmed by the one person I grew to trust so much that I felt hollow without him by my side.
I buried the necklace under the rock along with my love, and walked away.
A/N: Picture in the media is how I envisioned Selene in this scene.
