"So you have fought two dragon spawns already?"

Haley looked down uncomfortably under the stare she was recieving.

"Well I didn't exactly fight. I just met both."

"Oh." She looked up. Kal had his thinking face on.

"Dragon spawn just don't do anything without reason. Contrary to other beliefs, the Dragon Spawn only go on special missions that are of great importance." Kal got up and surveyed his book case.

"Your friend, Warren. Does he have anything to do with that first Dragon Spawn you encountered?" He asked.

Haley thought for a while. "Well it seems like Pain-" "Pain?" "The Dragon spawn." Haley glared at her uncle for interrupting.

"As I was saying, Pain seemed to have lost something Warren owned. Something he held very dear." Haley spoke.

Kal nodded. "I suppose it was a trinket?" Haley shrugged.

"By the way, about your mothers condition..." Haley looked at Kal. "Tell me about it."

"Magic-" "Of course!" Kal jumped up. He started rummaging his book case.

Haley startled, looked at him in confusion.

"What uncle. What is it?"

Kal continued to search before pocuring a green leather book.

He hurriedly sat on his chair and furiously flipped the book until he stopped and slapped his forehead.

"Of course it was. The bloody simple answer. Magicus Detoriatus." He looked at his niece excitedly.

She arched her brow as if asking for an explanation.

"See over a few months back right as those ghouls started attacking, I felt that something was very wrong." He flipped the page.

"I wasn't sure what it was at the time so I left it just as it was. A few days later it subsided but was still there." He narrowed his eyes.

"And now I know." He looked up. "Your father was bitten by the Venus fly wasn't he?" All Haley could do was nod.

"And when did you find out?"

"Just a day after he died." Kal leaned back and smiled.

"Fear not. Kon knows the cure. Good ol' Bones, figuring it out immediately."

Haley looked at him in surprise. "How'd you know?"

Kal laughed. "The man was like a third brother. He was also somewhat of a forgetful egghead at times." He laughed again. "Definitely still forgetful."

Haley laughed. "He still is."

She yawned. Kal looked up. "Your friends have already settled in their beds. I don't have to remind you where your room in now do I?" He smirked before Haley grinned and hug her Uncle.

"Good night uncle." He waved her off before looking at the letter.

He scratched his chin before praying.

'Lord, the King of kings and the Lord of Lords, thank you. For this life that I have recieved. For the lives you have entrusted me. For the lives you have given me. And now Lord, I ask you to give us the strength and the courage this fight through this troubled times. Thank you Lord, Amen.'

He kissed his necklace before murmuring "I pledge myself to the assistance of Haley Baird, Princess of the House of Demon and my niece." His neclace shone before it went dark.
