Dante stood in his garage with his other three band members, setting up equipment. He was pretty sure that his band, Dianna's Diary would be pretty big someday, and his crew was just as sure. Dante himself, being the lead vocalist picked out the name, with the others' approval of course. His best friend Vesta was the female vocalist and lead guitarist, his cousin Daemion was the drummer, while Daemion's younger sister Snow was the bassist. Dante was tall and lanky. He had flippy black hair with a red streak across the bangs, and blue eyes. Vesta was shorter than Dante but taller than the rest of the group. Her brunette hair fell halfway down her back with streaks of blonde throughout, and she had electric green eyes that would tell her every emotion. Daemion had the same features as Dante, the only difference was Daemion had brown hair and eyes. Snow was the shortest of the group but probably the most respected of them. That girl could put any other bassist Dante knew to shame. That's why he picked her. Her hair was bleached white but faded blue around her bangs. She had gorgeous sky blue eyes, and had a tattoo of a snowflake below her left one; hence the nickname Snow. Dante looked down to find Vesta staring up at him while setting up her microphone. He smiled at her and she smiled back looking away. She was blushing and trying desperately not to look at Dante. For the longest time now she's had the most obvious crush on him, and as wrong as it was he used it to his advantage. They've known each other since elementary school and would kill for one another if it came down to it. Dante tried not to think about the fact that Vesta liked him too much. Because though they had no relation between them, Dante had always seen Vesta as a little sister. The thought of the two of them getting together made Dante sick, Not that Vesta was ugly or anything, because she wasn't. She was actually very pretty but considering the circumstances, Dante would never date her. Dante bent down and put his hand on her shoulder and gave it a reassuring squeeze. Dante wasn't sure about what he was reassuring her though but after he did, whatever had been eating at her seemed to fade. Vesta stood up after setting up her microphone and spoke calmly, "Everyone ready to play?" She looked about the other band members and seen that they all stood aloof. "Okay then," she said. "Should we start off with a cover?" "I Don't Care by Apocalyptica!" Snow called out sweetly. Out of the list of ten songs they had to practice, that was her favorite. "Anyone object?" Vesta asked. The group stood silent and Dante rubbed the back of his neck absently. "Okay then," Vesta sighed, "I Don't Care it is." The way they had it set up was simple. They all made a circle and they all faced the center so they could see each other. It was just easier for them. Vesta looked at Dante who nodded his approval and then Vesta began to play chords on her guitar. After a few moments she began to sing and her voice came out angelic, "I try to make it through my life. in my way there's you." After the first verse was sung Dante came in at the hook with a low growl, "just don't deny it! Don't try to fight it!" After Dante's screaming was seized both Dante and Vesta sang in perfect harmony, "if you were dead or still alive." Vesta sang, "I don't care, I don't care" Dante sang, "just go and leave this all behind." Then Vesta finished, "cause I swear, I don't care." Vesta looked at Dante for the first time since they started playing and she found him staring back. She smiled. Not only because the fact that Dante was watching her sing was cute, but because for the first time in what seemed like forever. She wasn't worried about anything that was going on at home. She was lost in the music, and it gave her peace.
