3 days later...

Joscelyn clings onto the economics text book, close to her chest. She feels more conscious today, as if everyone is giving her glares for something she had done, that she has no idea of.

She feels intimidated, threatened about being here right now at Becaon Hills High School. She has a strong yearn to yell out to everyone around her in the corridor, to tell them that they don't matter in her life and that their glares are doing no one any help.

Joscelyn starts to walk faster, heart thumping in her chest at the-

"Josie!"

She stops suddenly, on the brink of slipping and falling backwards. She looks behind her with confusion, "Stiles, you scared me! What's wrong?"

He is panting, completely breathless. "Didn't you hear about what happened?!" He questions and she shakes her head slowly. It is at this moment that she realises that everyone is headed for the school exit.

"Why's everyone going to-"

"Come on, I hear it's pretty bad," Stiles grabs her hand and tugs her towards the exit but she snatches it away all of a sudden.

Immediately, Joscelyn regrets the action after seeing Stiles looking at her with hurt. She shakes her head then follows him out of the school door.

She finds Scott standing right at the front of the crowd, completely still and as if he's in shock. Joscelyn and Stiles jog towards him stopping when they witnessed the answer to everyone's sudden rush outside.

"Oh my..."

"What the hell happened here?"

"She just... the faculty saw her laying there from their classrooms and they rushed to call the security. The police arrived ten minutes later," Scott explains, "I've seen worse."

Stiles grimaces at the sight, "I don't want to know." Joscelyn clings on to his arm unconsciously, feeling extremely disgusted. Stiles glances to her for a moment, but doesn't react in any sort of discomfort.

A still body lays there, clothes soaked in blood with claw marks all around the chest, circling the body. Her hair is spread around on the ground under her, eyes wide open, terror-striken.

A moment of realisation hits Joscelyn. She's seen this method of attack before, she knows it too-

TRRIIINNGG!

Joscelyn digs into her pocket and looks at the caller ID. She freezes for a moment and gulps, then answers the call.

"Hey Jo-"

"This was you right?"

"What are you talking about?"

"I know it was you," She claims and walks away from the loud crowd, "What the hell is wrong with you?!"

Joscelyn walks over to the school buses and hides in between two of them, "What were your thinking?"

"Look, how do you know it was me?"

"You do your whole signature thing, Lan-"

"I did it to help you Josie, all I do is to make sure you get this job done."

"And you kill someone?!"

"If I need to of course! This job is the most important thing to me, I've never been so close to a complete takeover sweetheart. You're doing a slow and lousy job of making me happy."

"I will NOT kill anyone you hear me?!"

He chuckles, Joscelyn clenches her fists. "You're a psychopath, you kill like it's... like it's a hobby!" She yells, not caring if anyone would hear, "I won't do it, EVER. Mark my words you sadist!"

BEEP!

He cut the call, Joscelyn stares at the bus in front of her. She couldn't believe what she had just heard. She couldn't fathom the conversation as a-

"Um... Josie?"

She turns with eyes darting around in surprise. It's just Stiles, approaching her with suspicious caution. "Yeah, what's wrong?" She asks and runs a hand through her hair.

"Well I should ask you the uh, same thing."

She tilts her head, "I was just talking to my dad-"

"You don't have to lie anymore. There's no one left to lie to," He states sadly.

"What?"

"Scott and Lydia... they don't trust you any more."

*****

She thought it worked, she thought she had gained their understanding but she couldn't have been more wrong. They had given her a free-trial chance just like everyone before until they proved their worth.

"You could have told them Stiles," She explains, "Don't you believe me? Do you really think..."

She scoffs with amusement at the accusations they had made. "Do you actually think that I could do THAT?!" She challenges, clearly nervous about the fact that he has his suspicions.

Stiles has his doubts, why on earth would his friends have any about this new girl who hasn't done anything then?

"I don't know, you've been a ghost for the last few days. You don't come to classes even though you're in school, you barely talk to us and you're so cryptic, you even have these super weird phone calls that you run away to answer!" Stiles blurts out in a rush, frustration rushing through his veins.

Joscelyn steps back in bewilderment. "You don't trust me..." She mumbles with melancholy.

"No no, I do but I... I'm just telling you what they said, even though they told me not to," Stiles huffs and runs a hand through his spiked up dark brown hair, "I don't want you to be doubted when you shouldn't be Joscelyn."

She sighs and steps closer to her friend. She smiles softly, "Thank you Stiles and I know that I've been acting suspicious but I... It's a n-new town and I really don't feel at h-home. I was talking to an ass-hole of a friend, you know those type right?"

"Yeah," He looks at her with sympathy, "I still trust you Josie. I know you could never do all that, I was honestly laughing in my mind. I argued with them but they didn't listen to me."

She smiles brightly, stating into the hazel globes he has for eyes. It's the first time she notices them, without any powers they still look magical.

"You know, I have an idea to prove myself to them," Joscelyn squints her eyes and steps a way from Stiles, "We need to go to the library and get some books first. I think I noticed something about the body, some sort of different kind of attack. We have to do some research but I think I've got a lead to find the culprit."

"And what books are we getting?" Stiles asks as he follows his friend back into the school building, "On supernatural beings?"

"Yeah, everything on it," She says then turns around sharply, "We need to check the the body. You need to get your dad to let us."

"Ouch."

"What?"

"He's not exactly someone who would say 'hey kids, crime scene open for y'all, go crazy!'," Stiles sighs and Joscelyn holds his arm.

"Come on Stiles, you have to try. Do it for the case, do it... for me," She requests and after some contemplation he nods his head. She smiles widely and they continue their journey to the library.

It can help the case and help my life in return... It'll happen a lot quicker, She thinks to herself as quickly makes her way to the school library, with Stiles right next to her.
