She walks around, hoping that she seems completely normal to everyone around her. With the look of anxiety on her face, her mundane-ness seems to diminish by the second.
Though going to a new school, meeting strangers and trying to adjust does make one quite anxious.
Who's to say what is and what isn't normal? It's subjective, something she ponders on occasionally.
Beacon Hills High School, located in Beacon Hills, California. She had moved to this town for a purpose she still doubts the justifiability of. A feeling of mistake has buried itself in her gut, she still hasn't come to terms with it.
She feels the stares and whispers of everyone leaning on their lockers, bore holes in her mind. She would have confronted them maybe even threaten them, she's experienced in that area, but decides to shrug it off.
They aren't part of her agenda anyways.
Propping her shoulders back straight and taking in a sharp breath, she locates the locker #1002. Her eyes spot it not too far away then she hastens to it, not wanting anyone to interact with her unnecessarily-
"Sorry, I think you've got the wrong locker."
She turns to her left, eyes widened at the sudden voice targeted towards her. It was a girl, assumingly the same age as her, with strawberry-blonde hair and green eyes.
"What?" She asks and the girl smiles slightly, moving closer to show her the number engraved into the metal door.
"See? It's number 1020. Your locker will probably be a little down that way," She helps then puts her hand out in front of her, "I'm Lydia Martin, I don't think I've seen you here before."
"Um... Y-Yeah, I'm a new student here," She stutters and runs a hand through her dark brown hair, "I'm Joscelyn Peterson."
She doesn't want to mingle with anyone at the moment, she has other things to do. "Thanks for the help but I uh, I need to go-"
"Hey wait, you just got here. I'm sure you need some help," Lydia offers but Joscelyn shakes her head with refusal.
"N-No I'll manage thanks."
"Nonsense! I'll show you around," Lydia gestures for her new acquaintance to follow her and Joscelyn sighs.
Does she have any other options open right now? No... no she doesn't.
She follows Lydia along the main corridor, Joscelyn glances at people she passes. She doesn't want to be here but she has no choice. She just wished she hadn't agree to it.
"Hey guys!" Lydia greets to boys standing by a classroom door and they look to her with smiles.
Great, more people... exactly what I need right now, Joscelyn thinks.
"This is Joscelyn," Lydia introduces, "And this is Stiles and Scott." She points to them one by one and Joscelyn smiles forcefully.
That's Scott? No it can't be, isn't he supposed to-
"Can we call you Josie or is that... is that a bit weird?" The guy named Stiles asks and she furrows her eyebrows.
"What? Oh yeah it's... alright, call me what you like," She states flatly then starts looking around, "Well this has been fun. I better be going now, see you around!"
