Chapter 5The Aqua Maiden

~Syre The Aqua Maiden~

"Ahh! That Fresh air! That cold and fresh air!!" Breathing deep as I get up from bed, do some stretches then happily skips to my kitchen "Morning Ronnie!!" the Girl who lives with me, Veronica is her name, but I call her Ronnie, isn't that sweet of me! "Oh hey Syre" She looks up, she is just wrapped in blankets, I can't see her at all except for her pretty face peeking out. "Why so glum!" I look and pout at her "Its Freezing! Sorry that I don't have the power to not feel cold" She looks away and tries to drink her Cocoa. "Ah, but I'ma go for a swim, you coming?" Asking her as I look her on and gets to the door. "F.R.E.E.Z.I.N.G" She spells it out, as she say it again. I don know why! She does know I can like put a barrier around her. Meh, her loss! So I open the door, letting the cold in as I run out and head to the river.

At the river I can see all the cute little purely white fishies, swimming around in the icy water... Hmm, it's so peaceful. Oh right! I haven't told you of myself. I am Syre, the Aqua Maiden. My beauty is matched by no other. My skin is soft and silky, to the touch it feels like soft running water. My eyes are so light and blue; they actually look like the ice! I can say my voice is sweet and lovable, everyone loves my voice! I have these odd bubbly things on my shoulders, waist and one on my chest, looking like a necklace, they glow when i use my element.

Enough bout lil ol me. Fall Drea, a Kingdom made of ice. I helped build the icy parts along with some ice mages, they were very nice. Anyways, I'm at the river... It runs all the way from the big volcano, it's quite the thing, Its magma... Is ICE. It is liquid ice! It freezes anything it touches! There was this one guy, Heh, he accidently ran into the ice and froze up instantly. Silly wolf. But every day i go up there, trying to take control of it. I have made some progress. Made a few waves and a lifted it up a little bit. But not there yet. Do hope soon though. Recently the temperature has gone down, which is odd. Even though it's a land of ice.

Pouting as I get up, I ready myself and leap into the ice water, the water ripples and some ice can be seen breaking as the ripples hit them. I'm so lucky I don't feel this cold, some has even frozen to death in here. As I swim about, I see fishes swim past me a few times, then I get bored and get out. I use the water to launch myself through the air going "Wheeeeee!" As I fly through the air. I land "yes! Perfection" Grinning as I walk home, soaking wet, the water running down my skin and falling gently to the ground. I feel the sun on my back, heating me up. I don't like the heat, so I bring up some snow and ice, and make me an umbrella. "Why's it getting so hot!?" Shouting to no one.

Later when I get back to the house, I'm surprisingly greeted by Davey. A carrier dove, he delivers the mail in our part of the kingdom, he's so nice to go all this way out, just to give us letters. "Hey Davey!" I give him a smile and hug the dove; He squirms as he feels my cold body against him, making me smirk. "H- Hey, S- Syre" he shivers and stutters to the cold on his white feathery body "C- Can you p- please- a- a- achooo! Sorry...let g- go?" I giggle to the silly dove as he sneezes, and that he can't take my cold and let go slowly, leaving a little bit of the cold, but only so he feels it, he won't die from the cold or anything. I'm icy, not cold hearted.

"Th- Thanks... There's a letter for you, f- from a mister" He reads the letter in his claws, trying to think. I take it with quick movement, he's too slow to react "H- hey. Don't just grab it" He gives a weak smile, man i feel so bad, I put my hand on his shoulder and the cold goes away "There ya go bud" I stick my tongue out and look at the letter " Draggy!" damn feel so happy to hear from him, after six bloody years, and after what we went through now he decides it's a good time to send a letter "Thanks Davey!" I run in and slam the door close in his face. "Sorry too!" My muffled voice through the door. "Uh, I- its ok! And you're welcome!" I hear his feet trudge through the cold snow.

I rip open the note eagerly, and start to read...

~Dragno's note~

Hello Syre. You probably read that it is from me. But yeah, it is your old buddy Dragno. But yes, I wanted to let you know we are coming. It will be me, Zax and two comrades, one being my friend from the center, and the other being Zax's fiancé, weird I know. If you are wondering why we are coming, we are coming to get you, then Bruda. The Elements needs to gather again... Darkness is making its second assault. No rest for the wicked huh. Not much preparation is needed. Just get to your king, and tell him of the threat and that he and the people of Fall Drea must start making their way for Black Rock. Please do not be stubborn as usual. This is a serious matter, don not take it lightly. Also... I am sorry about the last six years, for not saying even a single hello until now, and also what happened after... You know why it is so and cannot be... And I can also not wait to see you again. You must have grown quite a bit since last time. We will make land in two days. I shall see you then

"Ok then" I tear actually start to tear up, a tear, glowing as it falls to the ground... Thinking of our past. It was... fun, but not all, especially him. All that he has done... After what he did to my poor Draggy. I look up and sweep my tears away. "What's with the tears? You're never upset after a good swim" I hear Ronnie's voice; I see her stumble over to me, still wrapped in her blankets. "Boy problems? Hehe" She giggles to her little tease. "Well, to tell you the truth... Yes it is. Someone from... Long ago I guess" I smile at her, then she leads me into the kitchen, I smell her cooking, didn't think she's been cooking since I left. "So come on, tell me about him... Didn't think the Siren of ice could get troubled by boys~ " She says it in such a way it makes me smile and blush. "Heh... Not sure if you'd understand" I tell her, trying to avoid the memories. "Oh come on! Let Ronnie know your lil boy problems!" She keeps teasing me more and more. "Fine! Ok ok..."

I start telling her about Dragno. After a while. I stopped talking, tears running down my face "I- I'm sorry... L- Let me go make something to drink..." She goes and makes me iced tea; I get up slowly, and go hug her. "No... I- Its fine... Thanks though..." She gasped at my cold touch "O- Ok. Any time..." She's clearly confused by what i meant... But it feels good to talk about Draggy with someone...

"Well we're almost there" Looking over to the land of ice, I'm instantly overwhelmed with the cold, folding my arms, bending my knees and folding my wings tightly around me, I start making a fire inside, warming up. "ahhh, ok... Better... Damn I hate the cold..." Zax turns to me, frowning; I can see he's disappointed "What?" "You know what..." He keeps staring at me with those yellow eyes, making me uncomfortable. "Zax... Please, I didn't-" "I know what you meant... And I also understand why you did what u did then" I'm actually surprised he understood my reasons with Syre. She- well... yea... "Well... There's land" I say, I notice Philly shiver and I hold him under my wing after I extinguish the fire. "Hehe, thanks Drag" He giggles and snuggles into the heat. "No problem" I look at Fall Drea as we approach. "Well this place looks awesome!" We all hear Philly, shouting eagerly as we approach Fall Drea... The Kingdom of Ice, Home of the Aqua Element, Syre the Aqua maiden.
