Ladybug stared into the dead green eyes of Chat Noir as they shut. Tears started welling up in her own. She couldn't hold it in anymore. My best friend–my partner in crime... Ladybug choked at the thought of it. Her vision blurred from the tears, she was too overwhelmed to blink them away.

Until she heard the familiar beeping of Chat's miraculous.

She wiped her eyes just in time to see a bright green light flash before her. Ladybug looked in astonishment as the black suit and mask melted off of Chat Noir. It was magical, she even smiled for a bit as she saw the last bit of his hidden wedges disappear off of his feet.

The moment was over quickly as Ladybug's eyes traveled to his face–

Adrien.

Ladybug's vision blurred. She didn't bother to wipe the tears away, she couldn't. Her partner in crime had been her crush this entire time. Her crush had been flirting with her this entire time and she had rejected him. Over and over again. And here he was, dying–she didn't even want to consider him dead yet–after asking her to be his wife.

She hadn't even noticed she was sobbing, crying so hysterically she forgot to breathe for a couple seconds.

Ladybug picked moved Adrien's body from the debris, her tears falling onto his bloody clothes. She gently held his hand.

It's warm...

Then there was a very faint beat. She put her fingers on his wrist for a few minutes. The pulse rates would vary from 20-40 beats per minute, but all that mattered was that Adrien wasn't dead–yet.

Ladybug stopped crying, and slowly slipped Adrien's unconscious body into her own arms. She slung his head over her shoulder, tightly holding on to his back, and swung her way across Paris, opening the door to the best hospital in the city.

"This boy was electrocuted by an akuma, and crushed by debris, I need you help him." Ladybug said to the concierge as formally as possible. The EMTs carried Adrien onto a rolling cot and and hooked him up to an oxygen tank as she left the hospital.

Immediately, Ladybug zipped through Paris, transformation wearing off behind a tree near her home. Marinette ran inside, greeting her parents as casually as she could, and sprinted up to her room. Not bothering to turn on the lights, Marinette layed down on her bed, her back facing the door, sobbing silently. Its getting late, she thought, maybe I should just sleep for a while–get my mind off of Adrien.

She did eventually fall asleep, but did her mind forget about Adrien?

Of course not.
