chapter eight

"How are you doing today," Kian asks me leaning against the locker next to mine.
"I'm okay, better now that your here," I say smiling.
I slam my locker and Kian spins my lock. He grabs my hand and walks me to my next class.
"Ugh, I have a science test this period," I say realizing I didn't study.
"What about this for good luck?"
Kian grabs my waist and leans me against the wall. He gently kisses my lips, making all my fears fly away. Every time we kiss it feels like the first time. He slowly pulls away and I just sit there, stunned. He grabs my hand and walks me to science grining at the kiss he just gave me.

My eyes slowly open. I look over at my clock. 6:40. Oh my god, Kian is picking me up in 20 minutes.
I grab my phone and text Hailey.

••Hey! I'm going to Kian's house and he has a friend coming😏 Come with me please!

I get up and jog to my bathroom. I brush my knotted hair and braid it to the side. My phone vibrates and I run to it.

••Sure. What time.

I put my phone back on my bed and go to my closet. I choose a pair of maroon leggings and a grey t-shirt. I put on my white chucks, grab my phone, and dash out of my room.
My house is dark because my mom didn't get home yet. Kian's headlights light up my living room. I scribble a quick note and run out of the door.
"Your beauty continues to amaze me," He says with a smile slowly getting bigger as I get in the car.
"Your so cute," I say scrunching my nose.
We continue to talk about random things until we get to his house.
"Last one there gets no food," he says turning off the car and unbuckling his seatbelt.
"I'm not missing that," I say while dashing out of the car.
I make it about 5 feet away from the car before I feel two strong hands wrap around my waist and lift me up. I begin to laugh uncontrollably until he lets me down. His face is so close to mine that I can count how many times he blinks.
"Get in here you two," Hailey says giggling at someone.
Kian grabs my hand and takes me inside.
Hailey stands next to a boy. He is much taller than her and is very muscular.
"Hey I'm Grayson," the boy says.
"Oh and I'm Hailey," She says holding her hand out to Kian.
"Hi," He says.
"Okay this is awkward." I say, trying to brake the silence. I grab Kian's hand and and lead him to the kitchen, but I end up in the living room.
"Your lost," he says leading the way.
"Yeah," I dread along with him.

He opens the pizza box and hands me a slice. Hailey and Grayson are flirting like middle schoolers in the dining room. It's kind of adorable. Out of no where, Grayson kisses Hailey and I turn right around.
"Kian," I whisper pointing at the two who are now making out.
"Let's go," he says dropping his pizza and leading me upstairs. He opens the door to his room and let's me in.
"I'll be right back," he leaves me in his room.
I flop down on his bed and pull out my phone to text Hailey.

I throw my phone back onto the bed and cuddle up in his pillows. My eyes slowly close.
Kian opens the door and I still pretend to sleep.
He lays right by my side and puts his hands around me. My eyes slowly open and a smile wipes across his lips and mine. He can't keep his eyes off of them.
"I wanna kiss you," he says biting his lip.
"What are you waiting for," I say putting my hands through his hair. Slowly he leans in, sending butterflies throughout my belly.
His lips gently touch mine. It feels like all my pain has been healed, all of my anger has been lifted. The whole world stopped. Our lips moved in sync.
Once he pulls his lips away, I hop off of the bed.
"I gotta go," I say pulling him up.
"Hug me," I beg.
He wraps his arms around me tightly.
"I really like you Mal please let me drive you home.
"I will walk," I say pulling away from the hug.
"I like you too," I say before walking out of his room.
I wave goodbye to Hailey, though she was a little busy with Grayson.
I walk out of the door touching my lips.
"He kissed me," I say uncontrollably smiling.
