Prolouge

"Devil Child! Devil Child! Leave my orphanage now and never come back!"

I was unsure of why I was being kicked out, I hadn't been adopted yet... All I know is that I'm not like every other fourteen year old girl...

I'm different...

I walked until I could no longer. Suddenly, I felt the temperature increase, it got hot. I could not carry on any longer. I fell to ground when I felt a sharp stabbing pain spread throughout my body.

I cried out for help but no one heard me... I was screaming in pain. It felt like all my bones were breaking! The pain was unbearable... The last thing I saw before I blacked out was a faint light in the distance...

I  opened my eyes to find that I was shorter. I looked down and was shocked to see furry legs, what was I?

I looked like a dog but bigger....

A wolf!

Another thing that surprised me was the lady in front of me.

She had black hair with a few grey streaks.

She looked old.

"Come with me child I'll help you." She told me. She had a motherly calming voice that soothed my panic.

I listened for some odd reason. She led me back to a cabin and told me to imagine myself as a human. I did as I was told and pictured my long midnight black hair, my emerald green eyes, my unusually pale skin and felt something... Pain... My bones felt like they were breaking again and before I knew it I was me again...but naked.

The woman brought me clothes which consisted of a large t-shirt and sweatpants, she led me to the bathroom and told me to change.

After I was done getting dressed the woman led me to a large wooden table and disappeared for a moment behind a large wooden door, which I assumed led to the kitchen.

She came back with a large cup filled with a thick, red liquid. "What's your name child?" She asked "Kateyella (cat-e-L-Ah) Valentine"

"Drink" the woman told me in a stern voice that left no room for argument.

I carefully took the drink... It smelt delicious. I quickly drank the liquid. The woman lets out a startled gasp and stared at me with wide eyes.

"You're a-a-a hybrid!" She stuttered to me.

"A what?!?!" I asked, looking at her like she's crazy.

"A hybrid! Half werewolf, half vampire... They are extremely rare, they are filled with so much power!" She told me.

"what do I... What do I do?"

"I will help you and teach you everything you need to know about being a hybrid. I will teach you how to fight and how to stay safe."

"How do you know what to do?"

"Because... I'm a witch..."
