-Fire and Snow- A Fairy Tail FF-{ON HOLD}

~*Chapter 9*~

(A/N) Mōshiwakearimasen min'na!! Sorry everybody!! I haven't updated in a while, which makes me feel upset cause ik how it feels to be reading a fanfiction and then they stop updating for what feels like an eternity then update a "Sorry, Not An Update!" or a really short chapter. I have but one reason for not updating. School. I have to get all my missing work/corrections in by Thursday, so yeah, no pressure. I hope you all will forgive me for the lack of updates! I'll try to make a updating schedule, and if I don't update by a certain date/time, feel free to virtually slap me. Anyway, enough of my ranting. Off to the chapter! -xK.N.K

The girl stopped next to me. "Hi!" She said, in a perky voice. "Hey." I replied, a little weary. She looked me up and down, and stopped at my wrist. "You're in Fairy Tail!?" She asked, looking happy, then pouted. "Why do people always join when I'm out on a job!" I laughed a little. "Oh, I'm Christina by the way!" She said, reaching a hand out. I shook it and said "I'm Ember."

"Amber?" She asked, tilting her head. I shook my head. "No, Ember, as in a small piece of burning coal." I laughed a little. "You can probably guess my magic."

"Um, I don't know, snow dragon slayer magic, like me?" She said sarcastically. I shook my head, and then looked at her in awe. "You were taught magic by a dragon, like Natsu?" She nodded her head. "Yup!"

"Greetings! I am Jessabelle!" The small kitten said enthusiastically. I giggled a little. "Hi Jessabelle!" Christina said "Come on Ember! Let's go to my dorm. I'm guessing you'll need a place to stay until you can buy your own place." She started running with Jessabelle hot on her heels. "Hey guys! Wait for me!" I said, trying to catch up. "I blame your short legs!" Christina shouted over her shoulder. I scowled. I wasn't that short!

Little did I know that was the day I met my best friend.

~The Next Day~

Christina, Jessabelle, and I walked to the guild hall, talking about our past. Apparently, the dragon who taught Christina magic left her and she was looking for her. Jessabelle came from an egg that Christina hatched not to long ago. "So, now that you know our backstories, why don't you tell us yours?" Christina asked as we walked.

"Maybe later.." I pushed the door open to see absolute chaos. Everyone was either drunk, fighting, or fighting while drunk. "Is this normal..?" I asked. "Yup and- EEKKK!" Christina squealed, narrowly dodging a table that came flying at us. "Hey! Watch it!" Jessabelle huffed. "Fight me!!!" I turned around to see Natsu charging at me, his fist on fire. I stepped back and stuck a leg out. Natsu tripped over it and fell to the ground with a thud. "Oi! FlameBrain! I'm over here!" I turned my head to see Gray...in his underwear?!

Christina sighed and facepalmed as she said "Gray. Your clothes. Put them back on." Gray looked down, a shocked expression on his face. "What the heck! When did that even happen?!" Is it normal for him to randomly strip...? Wow. He sure has changed a lot.

"Fight me, you stripper!" I sighed. Is 'fight me' the only thing Natsu can say? They charged at each other, but stopped suddenly. Erza was glaring at them. "How many times do I have to tell you guys to quit fighting!"

"Sorry, ma'am!" They said in unision, saluting her. She went back to eating her cake. "Oh, hey Ember!" Natsu said, just noticing I was there. "When did you get here? Did you see me beat up Gray earlier?" Gray scowled at Natsu, while picking his clothes up from off the floor, and I sighed.

"How are you just noticing me? You almost ran me over earlier!" Happy flew above us and said "Aye!" Natsu gave me a confused look. "Really?" I facepalmed. How dense can this guy get?

"Sup, Ember." Gray said, finally fully clothed. "Hey Gray!" Natsu looked at me, then to Gray, then back to me. "How do you guys know each other?" He said, with a rather curious look on his face. Happy then smirked. "Do you guys liiiike~ each other?" Jessabelle elbowed Happy. "That's a rude question to ask!" I shook my head. "No, well I used to a while ago, but now I don't." Gray looked at the floor, pink tinting his cheeks. "You used to like me..?" I nodded my head then shrugged. "Well, it doesn't really matter now."

"Why do you not like Gray anymore..? Is it something about him?" Christina asked. "Well, we kinda just fell apart.."

She nodded her head then looked at the floor with pink on her face. I smirked. I may not like Gray anymore, but I think I know who does. "Watch out!" Natsu said, pushing me to the ground. A table flew over our heads, and smashed into the wall, breaking into many small pieces due to the impact. "Are you okay?" I nodded my head, then realised that we were in an awkward position. Natsu was on top of me, our faces just inches apart. Natsu seemed to realise this too, because his face turned bright red.

"They looove~ each other!" Happy gushed. "Do not!!" Natsu and I both yelled at the same time.

Christina and Gray shared a knowing look. I felt my face turn red. They better not even be thinking about teasing-! "Ember and Natsu sitting in a tree! K-I-S-S-" Gray didn't get to finish, because Natsu and I scrambled up and started chasing him around the guildhall, yelling bloody murder. Christina sighed, obviously getting sick of all the shenanigans, and yelled "Everyone, shut the heck up!" Everyone in the guildhall froze and stared at Christina. "Thank you."

Natsu then punched Gray in the face. "Oops, my fist accidentally hit your face, sorry ice stripper."

"Ice make, floor!" The floor beneath Natsu then was coated in ice, causing him to slip and fall on his face. I held my sides, laughing at Natsu as he was struggling to get up. "Oi! You wanna piece of me, Ember!" I smirked. "Bring it on, Pinky!" He lunged at me, yelling "Fire Dragon Iron Fist!" and igniting his fist. I easily dodged it and set my leg on fire as I kicked him. He's good at fighting, but he isn't tactical at all. I must say though, he is a skilled fighter. The whole guild then started fighting...again. The only ones not fighting were Christina, who was watching us fight with a really annoyed expression on her face, Jessabelle, Happy, and Erza, who was still eating her cake.

Mira then walked up to Erza and threw her cake onto the ground. Erza's face became dark, and she fell onto the ground on her knees, beside the now ruined cake. I think I saw a tear trickle down her face. "You'll pay for that.." She said, getting up. Okay, now only Christina, Jessabelle, and Happy are the only ones not fighting. Erza was now on a rampage, taking down anyone that stood in her way.

"Silence you brats!!" A commanding voice rang out. The whole guild then became silent. Woah, I didn't know that was possible. Master was standing on the railing of the second level of the guild, looking down on all of us. "I am very disappointed in all of you. Do you brats know nothing of self control?!?" I looked at the ground, feeling ashamed that we were being scolded. He sighed. "Well, since when has Fairy Tail been known for controlling our emotions? We fight using our emotions, as well as our magic. Our passion and drive is what keeps us moving forwards. We are a family as well as a guild, and that what makes Fairy Tail special!" He then made a hand signal, using his left hand, pointing his thumb and the finger next to it up and the rest of his fingers curled against his palm. The guild cheered and did the signal back to him. "What does that signal mean..?" I wondered out loud. "It means that even if you can't see someone,and don't know where they are, that you will always be with them." Natsu responded. I smiled at him. "That's really sweet!"

"She liiiikes~ him!" Happy gushed. I sighed while rolling my eyes. Fairy Tail is a strange guild, no questioning that. I smiled as I looked around the hall and saw my guildmates. We're not perfect, but we're a family. We all have our flaws and weaknesses, but we also have one another. I may have only recently joined Fairy Tail, but I already feel at home.
