The man let me go, and I dropped to the ground, gasping for air. I looked in the direction of the voice and saw a tall, muscular, man with red hair and dark eyes. He was wearing a dark cloak, that swished with every step he took. It was like power was radiating off him as he came closer.

"Oh crap! is that really...?!" The man's lackies started to talk among themselves. "I think that is..But why is Guildarts here?!" A voice said, panicked. "We're dead." One muttered darkly. "Why is it that Fairy Tail always have to come in whenever we try to do something?!"

"Fairy Tail.." I said in a quiet voice. They started to scram like dogs with their tails between their legs. Only the ringleader of was still here, but he looked as if he would've rather been anywhere but where he was now. His legs were shaking, and his voice stuttered as he asked the man, Guildarts was it?, "W-what do you w-w-want for us?" Guildarts lifted a hand, and the man that had once been so cocky and cruel flinched and fled, following his lackies.

I looked at him in wonder. He didn't even have to fight them to win! He looked down at me and I felt the color in my face drain. He then smiled warmly at me. I instantly felt relieved. I did not want to be this guy's enemy!

I smiled a little back at him. "What's a kid like you doing out so late. You better rush home, your parents will be worried." I felt the smile leave my face. His face stiffened with concern. "Come with me, you deserve a warm meal after what you just went through."

I followed him to a small, cozy diner. "What would you like to drink?" A waitress in a black dress asked us. "I'll take a water, and a hot chocolate for the lass here." She returned with our drinks and left us a menu. I sipped the thick, sweet hot chocolate, savoring every second of drinking it. I haven't had anything sweet for a long, long time. I was aware of Guildarts watching me, but I didn't point it out. I didn't want to seem as if I was ungrateful for what he has done, so I let the rude action slide.

"So, tell me. Why were you out so late?" I choked on my hot chocolate. "Well...That's a very long story.." Guildarts smiled. "Well, we have all night, so take your time." I didn't know how much I wanted to confide in someone all the bad things that had happened until then. I told him about Deliora, my parent's deaths, Gray leaving me, my search for a guild, and even my new fear of the dark.

I think that we were there for a few hours, because the waitress came back and asked "Are you ready to order now..?" Guildarts shook his head. "Give us a few more minutes." She nodded her head and left. "So, you say you're looking for a guild?" I nodded my head. "Well, there is a really nice guild not to far from ear." I perked up. "It's where I'm heading to. It's a great place full of amazing, caring, and well, crazy people." Crazy? Gildarts laughed. "I can see by the look on your face that you are kind of worried by craziness." "My whole life so far has been nothing but crazy." I responded.

"Well, then I guess what you really need is a kazoku that will always be there by you."

"What does 'kazoku' mean?" Gildarts smiled blissfully. "It means family." Family.. the thought made my heart break all over again. I missed having at least one person being by my side no matter what. I'm tired of being alone. I got up and pushed in my chair.

"What are you doing...?" His voice trailed off. I smiled. I think he just noticed her never asked me my name. "Ember." I said. "Okay then, what are you doing, Ember?" My grin widened.

"I'm going to meet my new kazoku, if you'll take me."
