"Please no! Aunt Catherine, Uncle Jared, I'm not crazy! Aliens killed my parents!" it seemed my cries were unheard as the men in scrubs dragged me off. I sat on the floor hugging my knees to my chest as I remembered that horrible day, three years ago. The day my aunt and uncle marked me as insane and threw me in this hellhole of an insane asylum. "Some family" I bitterly muttered to myself as I rested my head against the white wall.

Suddenly a loud click shifted my attention to the metal door of my room. "Alright Patient 2954, time for your daily pills" a nurse walked in. I looked down at the floor and shook my head, "No thanks". "Honey, you don't have a choice" the nurse handed me the cup. I looked up at her and set it on the ground, "I said, no. I'm not letting you people turn my brain to mush". "I will stand here till you take them if I have to" the nurse crossed her arms. "Take a seat, you'll be here till your shift ends" I flipped my long charcoal hair out of my face. "Young lady, do I need to call one of the doctors in here?" the nurse huffed. "Don't, it would be a waste of all our time, I sighed, fine, I'll take the stupid pills only if you leave afterwards".

"That's all I want, trust me, I have better things to do than babysit" she looked at me. "Okay" I picked up the cup and put the pills in my mouth. I appeared to have swallowed them and showed her that my mouth was empty. "Good girl" she smirked and began to walk out. "Oh, and a piece of advice, if you hate your job so much, just quit. I could hear you ten doors down saying we would be better off as sideshow attractions" I stared at her. "But how did you-I was muttering that" she looked surprised. "Oh whatever, no one else cares what I say about you anyway" she closed the door and locked it with the same loud click. After she left, I sighed and pulled the pills out from under my tongue. "I'm guessing these were the nighttime pills, I can sleep just fine on my own" the pills were tossed back into the cup.

Sometime after that, the lights were dimmed which meant time for bed. I stood up and shuffled over to my bed then laid under the pale blankets until sleep washed over me.
