(This part of the story takes place hundreds of year before the main story ).
"Happy eighteenth birthday my sweet grand daughter "my grandmother smiled at me. She handed me a kimono it was a beautiful one ,something we could never usually afford .(picture)
"But grandmother -"i started to say before she came back with a comment of her own.
"You can wear it for a formal event "she smiles
"But we don't have any "I said gazing at the beautiful stitching on the lovely blue silk.
"His coming back to the village ,I think you'll want to wear it then "she smiles. I blushed realizing what she meant. Every year after my birthday a man came to our village and stayed there for two months ,I had a small crush on him yet I didn't know his name. I wished to know him more maybe to be friends but it would be a lie if I said my heart didn't skip a beep every time I saw his stunning blue eyes. He'd help out our village, some believe him a God of clamity others were just just glad to have the help. Every girl in town would offer themselves to him as a bride but he never seem to notice.
One evening when I was of marriage years I noticed him looking at me. But it wasn't uncommon for men to look at me ,some of them asked for my hand but I wished not to marry man I didn't know, they always found someone else the next day.Happy:TIME SKIP!!
I sat outside in a tree reading a book when I heard a branch break. I snapped my head back to look,I was high enough in the tree to not be seen, but no one was there.
"Shouldn't you be working in the fields" I heard a male voice say . I turn my head to see the man with the blue eyes sitting next to me in the tree. He was wearing a black kimonos with his blueish black hair in a short ponytail his piercing blue eyes staring into mine ,they were almost cat like .
I jumped falling dangerously high from the tree. I reached for a branch but it slipped from my hands . I saw the man grab my hands and pull me up,his skin was so cold and his hands were...sweaty, he managed to pull me up.
"You shouldn't scare someone like that! But thank you for saving me "I bowed my head in respect. He only shrugged.
"What's your name "he asked relaxing in the tree, the wind made the tree sway ...this was the perfect time for a nap but he was here so that was out of the question.
"Airi "I stated calmly and reached for the basket I set up next to me. I pulled out an apple "what's your name sir, also would you like an apple "
"My name is Yato and yes please "she said opening his eyes as I handed it to him. He took a big bite out of it and o got a new one for me. I took a bite but the second I did he had finished. "I bet you I can hit that tree branch "he pointed to the smallest branch on the tree across the river from us.
"I bet you can't "she said as I ate mine . He smirked
"Challenge accepted "she threw the apple core at the branch, AND HE HIT IT . The branch and the apple fell into the river. "Now you owe me "
"What do I 'owe' you "she said taking another bite .
"Hmm how about a kiss "she smirked. I blushed and finished my apple when an idea popped into my head.
"How about if I can hit that branch there I don't "I offered . The branch was behind where his was.
"Deal" he smirked mischievously. His smirked didn't last because I hit the branch. He frowned.
We continued this all day making bets like that and laughing. The sun began to set before we decided to leave. When I got home I was scolded to being late but I believe it was worth it, and I hoped to do it all again soon .
