I started this year telling myself I wasn't going to write any stories. I really wanted to give writing a break and concentrate on other things but here I am, inspired by one of the most beautiful souls to traverse the planet, writing a collection of poems that celebrate the beauty of his personality and the love I've gotten a chance to experience.
I'm sharing this with everyone so you all know that your true beauty lies within and if other people can't see it, then that's too bad. They're undeserving of your awesomeness and you should do yourself a favor by staying as far away from them as possible.
Random fact: The first thing I ever wrote was a poem and as a teenager, I kept a collection of hand-written poems which I only shared with my siblings. Unfortunately, someone came along and gave me a very unpleasant experience that made me burn all the poems and promise myself never to write again. When I met someone else who was super amazing, that experience was erased and I started to write again, but I made sure to avoid the poetry genre.
I have gotten to a point in my life where I feel reborn. I can connect with my old self again and this collection represents my return to the world of poetry. Special thanks to KayaEvey for letting me into the world of her Phoenixes (You should totally check out her book, Phoenix: Unborn Reality if you want a fresh start where you can believe in yourself), and of course, the inspiring DreamWriteLiveKel who has re-written every unpleasant experience I ever had.
