introduction & author note

i) This is a short story; not only because I don't have time for another novel, but that I am too lazy for one. There will be massive time jumps between chapters but I will try to make them as obvious as I can.

ii) Also, because I am lazy, I might miss a few things out. Mainly, the extract from the summary. It is IMPORTANT but I don't want to write an entire chapter with it. In case you are wonder, it would fall between the first and second chapters. This should be the extent of my laziness; sorry.

iii) This story is based on The Seven Ravens by the Grimm Brothers. It isn't the most well known story so you might not be familiar with it. If you want to know how the original story goes, Google the title. There are free versions available to read online. Note that I am using it as a very loose basis.

edit (21/02/16): I have left a link in the comments to the online version of the original story I am referring to. Naturally, things that are vague in opening chapters will be explained later, but if you need a better understanding I urge you to read the Grimm's version. (It's very short in comparison).

iv) Thank you for reading. I hope you enjoy. Don't be afraid to comment. I don't mind if it's a compliment, constructive criticism or something that just says 'I was here, I read this!' Everything is appreciated.
