The rest of the day manages to go by pretty quickly. Luckily, I had at least one of the seven people I met this morning in each of my classes. When lunch came around, Kate showed me to the lunchroom and helped me through the food line. Then Michael took over and led me to their table. Everyone instantly welcomed me and did their best to add me into each conversation. I cannot tell you how thankful I am for them. If it weren't for meeting Jenna the other day, I would've been alone.

Now I'm walking with Ashton and Jenna through the halls to our last class. As I found out this morning, I have my father's class. Both Ashton and Jenna have a math class that happens to be a few doors away from mine so they offered to walk with me.

"Hey, Skylar," Ashton says randomly. "The guys and I were talking and we wanted to know if you would like to come over to my house after school and go surfing." I involuntarily smile at his offer.

"I would love to. The only thing is that I would have to go home to grab a board," I say. Ashton waves his hand, scoffing.

"No need. I have plenty trust me. And I'm sure Jenna has something you could wear?" he questions glancing down to the girl beside him.

"Yeah of course. I'm assuming you're wearing your bathing suit already?" I nod and she smiles. "Perfect! I have a couple extra rash guards you can choose from. No problem." I thank both of them as I stop in front of my classroom. I tell them that I'll see them after school and open the door. Dad is sitting behind his desk, writing something in a notebook. He looks up when he hears me walk in and gives me a small smile, which I return.

I'm one of the last students to arrive so I take one of the empty desks in the back of the room.

"I just can't seem to get rid of you, can I?" a voice whispers next to me. I turn to my right to find the source and see Luke sitting there with a smirk plastered to his face.

"I guess that just makes you lucky," I shoot back. He rolls his eyes and faces the front of the room.

"Good morning, class. I am your new teacher. My name is Mr. Hall and I will be taking over for Mr. Green for the rest of the year." Dad stands in the middle of the room, his eyes moving over the class. He turns around and writes his name on the board for everyone.

"Hey," Luke whispers again. I raise my eyebrows at him in question. "Is this your Dad?" I nod and slouch down in my chair. Luke only nods in return.

Dad goes into the lecture for the day and I do my best to pay attention. I feel Luke glance at me from time to time just like he did in English this morning. What an interesting person. First, he acts like I'm not there then offers to help me multiple times. Now he can't keep himself from stealing glances. My thoughts from earlier return and I want to know more about him. Every chance I get, I sneak looks of him too. I can't get over how blue his eyes are. I mean, sure, I have blue eyes, but they're not as bright and clear as his. Actually, I'm quite jealous.

"Skylar?" my dad calls my name, pulling me from my thoughts.

"What?" I ask quickly. Shoot! I wasn't paying attention to anything he was saying. Dad raises one eyebrow at me in surprise.

"I asked what year the American Revolution started," he says.

"Uh..." I trail off. I have no idea and he must know that or else why would he be putting me on the spot like this? "I don't know," I say shyly.
