Lucy's POV
Have you ever had a nightmare and no matter how hard you try you can't seem to wake yourself up? Well something of the sort is what happened to me.
I was out on a case with Lockwood and George in a huge mansion, that was said to be one of the most haunted places in London.
Lockwood had forced us to come, he said that it would give us amazing publicity if we could seal the source.
We had agreed to split up (which you should never do on a case.) and were told to yell if we found anything or needed help.
Unfortunately I had been the one to find the first visitor. And it sure was an ugly one.
I was walking along the upstairs hallway and running my fingers along everything, when suddenly a flurry of voices came from a certain watch that lay forgotten in a drawer.
I heard the sad tale of a murder who was sentenced to be hanged, but they had mistaken the murder for his brother who looked similar and he was hung instead.
My eyes snapped back open and I was face to face with the man who had been hanged.
His neck was horribly bent and he had a rope around it. I tried to scream for help or reach for my rapier, but I was frozen. Ghost lock I thought to myself. I tried t o move but it held its grip on me as the ghost slowly floated towards me.
I willed myself to move. I squeezed my eyes shut with force and then clenched my fists. I was free! I ducked just before his transparent hand passed through my heart.
I sped down the hall, yelling for Lockwood and George, only to be stopped by two more ghosts.
I gasped when I saw their faces.
"Lockwood? George? No! How can this be happening?" I cried. Lockwood and George exchanged glances then Lockwood spoke in a whisper. "You weren't there when we needed you Lucy, "
"This is all of your fault,"George whispered, then they started slowly advancing towards me, reaching out their arms to embrace me. (Not the kind of embrace I fancied.)I gave one last gasp of air and they passed right through me. I fell to my knees as they laughed evilly above me.
I felt everything go black and I hit the floor hard.
Lockwood's POV
I was interrupted from my sleep when I heard Lucy yelling in her sleep from the other room. "Goddammit Lucy, again?" I mumbled, sleepily standing up.
I left my room and thumped on George's door. No answer. There was only one thing that would wake George up.
"Hey George, I'm gonna go downstairs and make breakfast in your kitchen. Ok?" I shouted in.
No sooner than 5 seconds later George burst out of his room. "Not my kitchen! You'll destroy it!!!" He yelled, then he must have caught on. "Oh. You only did that to get me up, didn't you?" I nodded.
"Lucy's yelling in her sleep again," I told him, George stepped back into his room. "I sorted her out last time. Your turn!" He grinned then shut his door in my face.
I sighed and made my way to Lucy's room. I found her kicking and thrashing in her bed, with her sheets lying across the floor. "Please no, don't hurt me. I'm so sorry." She whispered beginning to cry.
I picked up the sheets and placed them gently on top of her, but she didn't stop.
I watched her with concern when she whispered something else. "If you died because of me, I'll die because of you." She whispered in tears. "But I want you to know that I love you Lockwood."
I stared open mouthed and wide eyed at her. Did she mean it? I wondered.
She started to scream again, saying the same thing over again. "Please don't hurt me!"
I couldn't bear to see her like this anymore. I lay down beside her and wrapped my arm around her shoulders to stop her kicking and thrashing.
I was dead if George walked in, but then again who cares? I couldn't just leave her like that!
She settled down slightly when I kept whispering soothing things to her. "No ones going to hurt you Luce," I whispered. "I'm here now."
I hesitated slightly before replying. "I love you too Luce." Then I kissed her light on her forehead and fell asleep beside her, with my arm still firmly around her.
She snuggled close to me and then was completely calm. I smiled then shut my eyes and fell asleep right away.
Lucy's POV
Let me see now... I woke up when Lockwood whispered to me that no one was going to hurt me.
I didn't show him I was awake because then he probably would have left and I wanted the moment to last forever.
I heard him say that he loved me and felt him kiss my head.
He really has no clue how much I love him. Or for how long I have.
The end! Hope you guys enjoyed see you in the next one shot, and sorry I haven't uploaded in a while I've been super busy with school and such,
