Too Close For Comfort
Her hands continued to shuffle through the papers until she heard a faint whistling from down the hall. Bridge tensed up and messily folded up whatever paper she could and stuffed them in her back pockets, pulling down her sweater afterwards.
The snow hair colored male walked in, Techno Blade in hand, to see Bridge cleaning the lenses of her glasses with the sleeve of her sweater. She looked up at Hiroshi and smiled a bit. "Good work out there, Hiro."
Hiroshi smiled back at Bridge, his cheeks becoming a faint tint of pink. "Heh... Thanks, Bridge.. Of course, it wouldn't have gone as smoothly as it did if we didn't have you instructing us."
The curly haired female laughed a bit. "But, your brother helped also..."
"Yeah... But you were way more helpful than he was."
The dark skinned female's cheeks turned a shade of red, showing only a bit. She looked away from Hiroshi and glanced over at the remaining overturned papers lying on the middle table, eventually looking back at the male to see that he was closer than he was before.
"Were you...fixing the pile of papers...?" The male finally spoke again. Bridge only nodded. Hiroshi wasn't sure of how he missed it before, but there's was a faint scent of coffee in the female's hair and clothes. He wouldn't have been surprised if it was also left on her skin as well.
"The table was messy... And I just felt the need to clean it up a bit."
Hiroshi looked away, with a slightly confused look taking over as he replayed the words she said back through his mind. "Your accent.."
Bridge's grip on the papers tightened, but she managed to still look calm. "What about it?" The white haired male looked back at the dark skinned girl. "When you talked, it kinda dropped from your words..... Either, you're starting to lose it.. Or it wasn't real to begin with."
The female tugged at her bottom lip, looking at the floor again. "It's.. Quite possible that I could be losing my accent..." She muttered. "Well... It's getting late, and I should get some rest. Maybe you should too, Hiroshi.." Bridge put the papers that she crushed in her hand down and walked out the room, fixing her sweater again.
The white haired male watched Bridge as she left, looking at her tight curls bounce as she walked.
I can't fall for her, I just can't...

Bridge closed and locked the door to her room and sighed in relief. "I somehow managed to keep that up..." Her accent dropping again. She removed her glasses and rubbed her eyes. I hate having to lie to him... I hate having to lie period...but it's a part of the job description...
She put her glasses back on and reached for the folded up pieces of paper in her back pockets. She bit down hard on her lower lip at the sudden realization that there were a couple papers missing from her left back pocket.
"Damn it! Failure is definitely not an option right now! Where could it have gone?!" She pinched at the bridge of her nose and sighed. "Did I leave them on the table? I couldn't have...they were in my pocket....unless..."
"Hiroshi saw them...."
//End of Chapter Nine
A/N: GAH! I haven't updated this since Christmas of last year (being 2015)! So sorry about that for the ones waiting for this! And I'm also sorry if this chapter seems shorter, it's like 550 words at most... Excluding this, of course.
