I was just your ordinary teenage girl. There was nothing real special about me. But I guess someone else thought that I was all around special. I was the type of teenage girl, no one stood around. I had no friends and, really I was fine with that. But I should probably tell you why I was fine with having no friends.

When I was little and even sometimes still, my father would beat me. There was never anyone that would stay long enough to help me. They didn't even ask the next day if I was ok. But I was the child called it. I knew I probably disserved getting beat. I was always bad and getting into trouble.

I remember walking into school my 9th grade year, having black marks up and down both my arms. When it came time for gym, the teachers never made me change, because they knew. But that wasn't the worst part of the school day. Lunch was.

I would sit by myself at lunch and just read. People would sit at tables around me and, laugh at me. At times I would end up crying, at the end of lunch. That is til my angel came a long. Whenever people saw Milly with me they wouldn't say anything at all. It was funny to look at them and, see them all get scared.

One week after Milly started sitting with me at lunch, she saw a new bruise on my face. I could tell that she has had it with my dad beating me. though she tired not to show it. That's when I realized I could trust someone. That's when I fell in love. And I think Milly could tell I was falling in love with her.
