"STOP IT!" I heard screaming and sat up. And saw Carly glaring at Bryan. "WHY ARE YOU SO UPSET ABOUT JAMES AND I DATING? IS IT REALLY THAT BIG OF A DEAL TO YOU? WE'RE STUCK OUT IN THE MIDDLE OF THE GRAND CANYON AND ALL YOU CAN THINK ABOUT IS THAT I'M JAMES'S GIRLFRIEND! AND WE DON'T EVEN KNOW IF WE'LL SURVIVE!"

Bryan looked startled. Obviously he had not been expecting her to scream so much. He opened his mouth to say something but Carly just held out a hand to stop him. He quickly backed up, expecting her to start screaming again. But she just started crying and hugged James.

I stood started standing, so I could go comfort her, but someone put their hand on my shoulder and pushed me back to the ground. Eliza was sitting behind me with Kayla. She shook her head telling me to stay seated.

"Please let me stand up," I muttered, my voice was hoarse and my throat was dry. "I'm fine!"

"No your not," Kayla said. "We think you have a concussion."
I blinked, I hadn't even thought my headache could actually have been caused by an injury. That's when I realized others might be hurt even worse. I hadn't had any time to really talk to everyone. But we had just been in a plane crash, it was a miracle we had all survived!

"How is everyone else doing?"

Kayla shrugged. "We're all still alive. Everyone has several bruises and cuts. Carly's ankle is broken, and we think James dislocated his knee. Flora has a sprained wrist and I have a huge gash on my arm. Hayden and Bryan both managed to survive relatively unscathed."

"So nothing too serious? Everyone will be okay?"

Eliza snorted, "We're stuck in the Grand Canyon with no way out, do you think we're okay?"
I shook my head and looked out over the wreckage. The sun was almost below the edge of the cliff but it was reflecting off the metal right into my eyes. Ignoring the pounding headache it gave me I turned back to Kayla.

"Have you tried using your cell phones yet?"

She nodded. "Several times, but all of the phones are either broken, or out of range. We also tried to find the radio on the plane but..." she spread her hands out to the sides. "No luck there."

Just then Flora walked up to us and sat down. She sighed and started drawing in the dirt with her good hand. Hayden followed behind her, a water bottle in his hand. He handed it to me when he saw I was sitting up.

"Drink some, you have to be dying of thirst."

I swallowed several gulps before I replied. "Thanks, did you find some supplies somewhere then?"

"With all our stuff. Remember? On the packing list it said to bring lots of food and water."

I did. It had struck me as odd that we would need to bring food for ourselves even though we were being flown there in a private jet. I decided now that it was perfectly fine we did that. Since now we could use the supplies we'd packed.

Once more I looked toward James and Carly. Bryan was standing awkwardly to the side as if he wanted to say something. I nodded towards them.

"What's going on over there?"

"Oh that," Flora said following my gaze. "Bryan said something to Carly about how having a boyfriend wasn't going to do her any good. He probably would've said more but Carly had already started screaming."

"Sounds like everyone's nerves are frayed."

"Tell me about it," Kayla cut in. "We should gather what we can use from the crash. Who knows what animals are out here and we need to protect our food."

Everyone moved towards the plane, Flora bringing Carly and James too when she passed them.James and Carly seemed to be supporting each other as they they walked. I stood up and started following them but Eliza held me back.

"There's a lot more things in this canyon then you'd think," she hesitated.

"What kind of stuff?"

"Well...I'm not entirely sure. But I know there's things that aren't normal. Lots of them very scary."

"You've survived this long though. We'll be fine."

"I know we probably will but the scary things have been getting a lot more common. We just need to be watchful-"

She cut off suddenly as the world started shaking. At first I though it was my concussion making me delusional but then I heard my friends screaming. Eliza looked at me with wide fear filled eyes.

"Earthquake!"
