Painful, Pure Love

Chapter 8

Walking in with Scarlett to Cameron's friend's house was breathtaking. The house had a modern look to it, and had many windows. Cameron brought me to the living room so he can introduce his friends to me. While walking into the room, I bumped into a boy with brown hair and bright blue eyes. 

"Sorry, I didn't see you there", he smiled. I smiled back and looked into his eyes.

"You have really blue eyes", I said. He laughed.

"Yeah, lots of people say that", he responded. "I'm Nash".

"Brooklyn", I said back. 

Out of the corner of my eye, I could see Cameron looking at Nash in a disgusted way. I looked at him and he just rolled his eyes and walked to what seemed to be the kitchen. What's his problem?

Nash introduced me to three other boys who I learned are called Matt, Taylor, and Shawn. They were all handsome. Especially Taylor. I walked over to Taylor and started a conversation with him. 

"I don't know how you can live here during the Winter, it's so freaking cold!", he said.

"I know. I think I was accidentally sent here", I laughed. He laughed too. Suddenly he put his arm around me. I looked up at him and all he did was smile back. I think I like him, even though we just met. Wait, Brooklyn! What are you thinking? You have Mason!

I took his arm off of me and slightly pushed him away. He looked at me with a confused look, but I just walked over to the couch next to Shawn. Soon enough, Cameron brought out a few cans of beer for all of us. He passed everyone a can, and when he got to me, I shook my head.

"No thanks. I don't drink", I stated. He looked at me oddly.

"You sure? It's good", he said, trying to convince me to drink it. I nodded my head. 

"Okay", he replied. Soon enough after 3-5 drinks, almost everyone was drunk except Shawn. Scarlett was laughing like a maniac at whatever Nash was saying to her and Taylor was laughing with Cam and Matt. I just sat there awkwardly with a soda in my hand not knowing what to do. 

Suddenly Shawn grabbed my hand and walked me to one of the bedrooms. Once we got up there, he closed the door and sat down on the bed. I looked over at him. All he did was smile.

"What are we doing up here?" I asked. 

"Getting away from whatever they're doing. I'm not really a person who parties a lot", he said. "I just want to watch TV and I thought you'd want to join me". 

I smiled and nodded my head. He grabbed the remote and turned on the TV. We decided to watch 'Titanic', which is my absolute favorite movie! 

As we got into about 35 minutes of the movie, Shawn seemed to scoot closer to me. I just ignored it. But then he did it again. 

Suddenly Shawn grabbed my hand and looked at me with a smile. I smiled back. He started to lean in, and so did I. What was I doing? I'm supposed to be with Mason! Shut up stupid inner mind, I thought. He soon closed the gap between us, our lips touching. Our lips moved in sync with each other. We were in the middle of a make-out session when all of a sudden Cameron opened the door.

"Hey, why are you gu-", he started to say, but instead looked at us with wide eyes. I jumped away from Shawn and stood up. 

"I'm sorry Cameron. Please don't tell anyone!", I pleaded. I couldn't have anyone find out about this. All Cameron did was look at me with anger and sadness in his eyes, and walked off. 

"Wait Cameron!", I yelled. I started to run after him, down the stairs and out of the house. Running about 2 blocks, I started to lose him. I don't even know why I ran after him. 

While I was walking back to the house someone yelled my name, and when I look over it was Shawn telling me to move out of the way, but when I looked back onto the street all I could see were bright lights. I tried to move out of the way, but it was too late. All I could hear were the quiet sounds of people screaming, and then it all went dark.
