It's Become Bad

Hannah has been crying the whole day and night for a week. This is becoming too bad. We all love Maggie so much but this is becoming too much of a burden to Hannah! I can't see her like this any longer.

"Hannah, is there anything you need?"
"I want a cuddle and a glass of red wine, please."
"I'll be back in a second, ok?"
"Ok." She said in between sobs.

I went to go and get her glass of wine and I burst into tears. I can't see her like this any longer and I can't feel like this any longer, I'm so tired. Groggily, I headed upstairs to give Hannah her glass of wine. She was staring off into space. Well, nothing has changed. I pass her the wine glass.

"Hannah, I can't see you like this anymore."
"How the fuck do you think I feel, Ingrid. You've no idea what it's like to lose your close family members!" She shouted.
"I KNOW HOW "THE FUCK YOU FEEL" I LOST MY DAD WHILE HE WAS ON A BUSINESS TRIP. YOUR SISTER WAS OUR EVERYTHING, I KNOW BUT YOU HAVE TO MOVE ON." I shouted back. The silence felt like a wound being dug further into miles per second using a knife. She burst into tears and all I could hear were the gentle sobs and groans coming from the pillow.
"Hannah......I" she cut me off there.
"You've done the damage now, Ingrid. Why don't you go and play with the kids. I get it." She said. Her words piercing every pore of my skin. I started crying again.
"Hannah..."
"I SAID GO AND PLAY WITH THE KIDS."
I ran out of the room there and then.

I jumped onto the guest bed and I could hear Hannah's footsteps coming towards the door.
"Ingrid. Can I come in?" Hannah sighed.
"Ok." I whispered. She pried the door open and she lay in the bed next to me, spooning me.
"I'm sorry. This has all just been a lot of hard work. I promise I'll be ok soon. Ok?" She told me, her breath warm as it tickled my neck.
"Ok." Her words were meaningless at this moment.
