Maggie was going home, 3 days after leaving our house. Ingrid, Naomi, Nao and I, all hugged her goodbye. She left in perfect state. Naomi left about 20 minutes after and we hugged her goodbye.
The Nilsen-Hart family went to Walmart to get some groceries. I got a call from Naomi.
"I'm going to be home quite late so I'll have to FaceTime you tomorrow, okay? There seems to have been a crash on the freeway and I've tried to get through to Maggie but no answer." Naomi said, quite relaxed.
"Okay, that's fine. Ingrid and I were going to go out anyway tonight. No problem at all! I hope Maggie's okay!"
Hannah exclaimed.
"Bye Han! Love you lots! xxx" Naomi said.
"Bye Naomi! Love you too xxx" Hannah kissed goodbye.
((Naomi's POV))
I'm very worried for Maggie because I've had no response and I've called her 96 times! I hope nothing's happened to her. I decided to turn up the music and 'I miss you' by Adele was playing.
"Baby don't let the lights go down!" I screamed, singing along in my car. After listening to the same playlist 23 times and counting, I changed to the radio.
"Maggie Hart, was sadly killed in a car crash on San Gabriel Freeway (I-605). She was on the centre lane and a car swerved in on her, pushing her car into another car and it flying down, over the rails. She has multiple broken ribs and a punctured lung. There is no saving her."
I pulled over. Called Hannah and cried.
((Hannah's POV))
My phone was ringing.
"Babe, who is it?" Ingrid asked.
"Naomi..." I replied questioning why.
Naomi was crying.
"Naomi what happened!?" I asked in shock.
"Have you heard the news on the radio?!" Naomi asked.
"No!" I said, surprised. I ran to turn the radio on and I'd missed it! Ingrid came rushing in and put her arms around my waist.
"Naomi! I missed the radio! What's happened?!" I shouted down the phone.
"Maggie's been killed. In the car crash. A car swerved into her and her car went over the rails, leaving her with broken ribs and a punctured lung but they can't save her." Naomi cried. I joined in crying.
"Naomi, I have to go. I'll speak to you later. STAY SAFE. I love you." I hung the phone up.
"Babe, what's happened." Ingrid had let me go off upstairs to be upset for a bit and I was happy to see her. I was scared because Ingrid loves Maggie to bits.
"Come and lay in bed with me please? I'll tell you when you get into bed and you cuddle me." I said, sadly.
"Okay." She hopped into bed next to me.
"Are you ready for the unexpected." I said crying.
"No, but hit me with it." Ingrid said smiling.
"Maggie was in the car crash. She died." Ingrid and I started to cry.
"She... she was driving...... and...d a car swerved into her... her......c... car. She wa......s...bumped into another ca...r a...nd... she... was......p...ushed... over...... the... the... rails. She has bro......ken...ribs and... and... a punctured...... lung." I cried. Ingrid kissed my cheek and cried with me. Nao came upstairs and Tanya was in her arms.
"Nao, come into bed with us and Tanya."
"Okay Mommy."
"Maggie was killed in a car crash. She had a car hit the side of hers and then her car fell off the freeway and the glass broke. She has broken ribs and a hole in her lungs and she can't go to hospital to be saved." Ingrid, Nao and I started to cry. Ingrid put Nao and Tanya to bed.
I cried all through the night and so did Ingrid. We had our arms wrapped around each other and we cried and cried.
"Maggie is dead." Is all that went through my head...
