*•Chapter One•*
She silently cursed at herself as she looked at the price on milk.
It had gone up 10 cents, this didn't fit her budget.
"No..No...No..No! This can't be happening.." She takes a deep breath and thinks things through, unaware of a bemused man who was watching her from the juice section.
"I could not buy milk this week and skip breakfast..And then get two gallons next week...Or I could buy it this week an not buy it next week.."
"Or, you could let me give you an extra dollar so you can buy your milk." A soft voice says.
"Wha?" She turns to see a man with emerald eyes, light brown hair and a height of 6'2.
"It obviously looks like this is a big deal." the man says as he steps over to her and sticks out his hand.
She looks into his green eyes and smiles lightly as she shakes his hand.
"I'm Raven. Raven Anderson."
"Tim. Tim McGee." Tim smiles and puts his hands in his pocket.
Raven smiles and turns back to the milk with a sigh.
"Let me guess...A college student of 20, living on a low budget as you try to make it in the world of acting." He looks at her with a smile and she turns to him.
"Wrong actually. MIT graduate of 28, working at a diner to stay alive, struggling to make it in any world."
"You graduated from MIT?" Tim says with a surprised face.
"Yeah, Wait..Did you?" Raven's smile broadens.
"Yeah! You must of started your term as I ended mine!"
Raven laughs and shakes her head.
"You don't look like your barely keeping a job though.."
"I'm a federal agent..I work with the navy." He says with a shy smile.
"Lucky.." She turns her back on him and picks up her shopping basket.
Tim looked at her and was amazed by her looks.
She had black hair that fell almost half-way down her back, and it probably looked amazing up, but was currently held back with two barrettes.
Her eyes were green mixed with blue and were mesmerizing to look into.
She wasn't that much shorter than him, probably 5'11, 5'10.
So, she could look into his eyes with ease.
Raven dressed casually in a blue skirt that went to her knees, and a black t-shirt that said, "Make Love. Not War" in bold white lettering.
"Tim? Mr. McGee?" Raven asked as she waved her hand in front of his eyes.
"Wha?" Tim shakes his head and blinks slowly.
He must've been staring at her.
"You OK?" She asks with a hint of concern.
"Brilliant..And I have an idea."
"What?" Confusing and interest shows on Raven's face.
"How about, you let me pay for your groceries and you pick where we eat for lunch. My treat."
"Fine. Even though this is a little weird, judging by the fact we just met..I'm fine with this." Raven puts the milk in her basket and heads for checkout.
