“(Y/N)! GET BACK IN HERE!” Harry bellowed from his room.

I stormed back in. “WHAT THE FUCK DO YOU WANT?!”

“I AM SICK AND TIRED OF YOUR SHIT, (Y/N)!” he yelled when I walked back through the door.

“MY SHIT?! MY SHIT?! WHAT ABOUT YOURS?! DON’T YOU THINK I’M TIRED OF YOUR CONSTANT CRAP?!” I screamed back at him.

“IF YOU CAN’T HANDLE THIS NEW LIFE THEN WHY DON’T YOU JUST GET OUT OF IT?! HOW ABOUT THAT?! WOULDN’T THAT BE SO MUCH EASIER?!” he shouted, wringing his hands in the air.

“FINE THEN! I WILL. I WILL GET OUT OF YOUR LIFE. RIGHT NOW.” I turned around and stormed out of the room, out of the house… out of his life.

I burst out of the door and broke into a run, away from the house, away from Harry, away from the best thing that had ever happened to me. Every step I took, it felt like I was running over my heart, flattening it, foot by foot, until there was nothing left of it but a flat piece of nothing.

Finally, I couldn’t take it anymore. I took a quick turn into an alley and slammed my back into the wall of a building, sliding towards the dirty ground.

I don’t know how long I sat there, with my head buried in my arms sobbing, but I finally heard footsteps in the eerie silent of the night.

“Hey, beautiful,” I heard a voice say.

The two words stung my heart like someone took a million needles and stabbed me. Those were the words that I was the most familiar with, the words that one special curly-haired boy had constantly said to me every time we got together… the words that only brought back the all-too-painful memories of our time together. Except this time they didn’t come from the perfectly chiseled lips of the one I love.

I looked up from my damp arm, damp from my tears, into the eyes of a stranger. He had dark, spiky hair, a stubbly chin, and cold, black, empty eyes.

“Do you want to have some fun tonight, babe?” He walked towards me, smiling coldly.

“Get away from me.” My voice was thick with the previous emotion outburst.

“Now, you don’t know what you’re saying, honey.” His face was in front of mine now, his breath stinking of alcohol.

“And it seems like you don’t either. I told you. Get away from me. I have a boy – “ I stopped. Oh yeah. I didn’t have a boyfriend anymore.

“Well your boyfriend isn’t here right now, is he,” he laughed chillingly, taking my hair in his hands and tugging my head roughly up to meet his eyes.

My scalp stung from the pull. Suddenly, it dawned on me what was happening.

I whimpered, pressing my back against the wall as far as it would go, as the man brought his face closer to mine, hand still clutching my hair.

“Baby, I will fuck you u – “ he started.

“Let go of her.” My eyes zipped over to the all-too-familiar voice.

Harry stood at the end of the alley, wearing tight black pants and a black leather jacket with a dark grey beanie on, fists clenched tight by his sides. Even angry, he looked so irresistible.

“I said, let go of her, you motherfucker!”

Before I could register what was happening, the bastard was on the floor, clutching his nose as blood dripped through his fingers.

I hadn’t realized that I was holding my breath until I let it out shakily. My eyes darted to meet Harry’s and I quickly focused my gaze back onto the ground.

A hand quickly appeared under my chin to lift my eyes back to meet Harry’s.

We stayed like that for a few moments, staring into each other’s eyes, until Harry finally spoke up. “Let’s go home.”

He dropped his hand and walked out of the alley, me following after him.

After a few minutes of walking, Harry came to a sudden stop, causing me to bump into his back. Much to my surprise, he turned around, took me in his arms and brought me in for a hug.

I stood there stunned as he mumbled into my hair, “I’m sorry, (Y/N).”

He waited for my response, but when there turned out to be none, he spoke again, “I was wrong. Very wrong. I should’ve understood you. I should’ve known that anyone would act like that in your position. (Y/N), I love you, and I don’t ever want to lose you again.”

A tear leaked out of my eyes and dripped onto his jacket.

“I love you too,” I whispered, barely audible, looking up at him.

I caught a smile spreading across his face before soft lips pressed into mine, enveloping me in our love.
