I finished unpacking my bags in my small dorm.
I sighed and wiped my forehead for the hundredth time.
Alabama weather will kill you without any regrets.
I made sure my room was clean and walked into the joint living room looking at my dormmate.
Long pretty blonde hair. Sparkling blue eyes. She was gorgeous.
I scanned the kitchen while thinking.
But why was she here... In alabama.
I mean I guess its not a HBCU* but still.
" What are you looking at you fat dark hoe. " My eyes widen and my head turned in her direction.
" I wasn't ev- never mind. " I snatched my keys off the counter and jogged down the steps to the ground. I looked around.
People of every shade of brown were here.
The basketball players and football players chatting in the middle.
The cheerleaders and Drill team standing not far off.
I walked past them all to get to my car.
" Damn " I heard one whisper as the whole group got silent. Four giant groups of black people get silent.
I thought it was a bad thing.
Maybe I have something on my face, my rolls are to big. Yeah that's it.
" She made me gay girl what the heck."
I swore that was a dude. I was two paces away from breaking into a sprint.
I finally got to my car and threw open the door.
After my deep breathing and wiping my forehead I looked up.
Two lightskins a girl and a boy and a dark skin boy were still looking at me.
I whipped outta the parking spot and peeled into the main road.
I stopped by the store and went to the candy isle.
Chocolates, sour patch, Chocolate covered cookies, ice cream, and a sprite is good.
I cashed out and headed back to campus.
My dark skin sweating a ton and my shorts creeping up higher.
I better change for orientation.
I got to campus and the kids glanced back at my car.
I got out and hustled to my room.
The football team, cheer and drill were gone.
The basketball team still conversing about who knows what.
" Let me carry that for you." I looked up into hazel eyes.
At once my bag dropped on the ground.
If I was lighter I would blushed.
" S-sorry, Its okay. "
I bent down to pick up everything and swore I saw a flash.
Stop over thinking things.
I tried to listen but I couldn't.
" D-did you take a um a picture?"
" Sure did. You're cute, what's your name. "

Short StoryI've been bullied since as long as I can remember. Dark skin is so this or so that. And it seemed to get worse when I gained weight. "Now not only is she dark, she's fat too!" I couldn't escape it even if I tired. I even attempted to commit suicide...
