The Attack

Selena's POV    

Why do teachers always seem to have to give you enough homework that it seems like you’ll never get done? That’s about all I did when I got home. Eden came home with me and we sat in my room, listened to music, talked, and did homework. When it was around 7:00 pm mom came home and ordered pizza. We all ate and then I the phone rang. Mom answered it and then gave it to Eden.

     “Yes mom…I know mom…okay mom I’m on my way. Love you to mom, bye,” Eden said into the phone and then hung up.

     “Who was that?” I asked with a small laugh building in my throat. She looked at me funny and then smacked my arm.

     “It was the boogie man.”

     “Ow you hurt me.” I held my arm to make it dramatic.

     “Oh you’ll live you big baby. My mom says I got to go home so I guess I’ll be heading off.”Eden waved bye and walked to the door. I stood up and ran to her and stopped her.

     “Hold on. Let me talk to mom and maybe I can walk you home.”

     “Okay, but hurry. If I don’t get home in 10 minutes my mom will hunt me down and murder me.”

     “Dramatic aren’t we?” She gave me a fake smile and we both laughed. “Mom I’m going to walk Eden home okay?”

     “Sure honey. Be careful and take something for protection. I saw the news this morning,” my mom yelled from the other room. I grunted and mumbled an okay. I grabbed a small throwing dagger, I always take with me when I walk, and Eden’s hand and took off out of the door. We walked toward her house and talked about the usual stuff. We finally got to her house and walked in. Her mom, dad, and her older brother were there. No wonder they wanted her home A.S.A.P. He hadn’t been home in a year. He went to college a year ago and hadn’t been home since. He was now 19. He still looked sexy with his shaggy brown hair and green eyes. I had a crush on him every since Eden and I became friends. He stood up and hugged Eden and then hugged me.

When he let go Eden hugged him again while screaming, “Oh my gosh Eric I missed you so much.”

     “I missed you too Eden. I also missed you Selena.” He looked at me and smiled.

     “Who couldn’t miss you Eric,” I said while lightly slapping his shoulder. I stayed over Eden’s for another 15 minutes to catch up when I decided to leave. I told Eden goodbye and gave Eric another hug and a kiss on the cheek before heading out. Eric offered to drive me home, but I told him I was fine walking. I left their house and started back towards my house. I was almost home when I heard a moan from the alley. I hurried and ran past it so I wouldn’t see anything. The last thing I wanted to see was some random couple getting their freak on in the alley. I quickly walked into my house and locked the door; I told my mom goodnight and went to bed. Wow I still can’t believe that we got a new family in town and Eric came back. I dozed off into a blissful slumber while reminiscing about the good old days with Eden, Eric, and me.

Luke's POV

     I moved away from the form of the girl I had been feeding on as I sensed movement from in front of the alley. I knew that whoever had been there was gone now, but their scent lingered...sweet, yet not overly so. I licked the excess blood from my lips and took another deep breath, inhaling the scent. Chuckling softly, I followed the scent, leading me to a house. I arched an eyebrow and jumped up to the ledge of a window where the scent seemed to be permeating from. I looked in, seeing a girl lying on the bed. My eyes widened. 'Ah...new prey. This should be fun.' I watched her for a little while longer, then fell from the window, going back home.
