"Are we going to the park?"
"No"
"Are we going to Grandma's?"
"No"
"Are we going to the store?"
"No"
"Are we going on a plane?"
"No"
"Are we going to the zoo?"
"NO!"
"Okay, then where are we going, Kate?"
"I don't know, Ryan. Stop asking me all of these questions."
"Can we go home?"
Kate's face turned pale. She was terrified of what or who might be at their house.
"Definitely not."
"Why?"
Kate didn't want to scare Ryan. She needed to keep it a secret from him.
"Because I said so."
"But I left Wally there."
Wally was Ryan's little toy giraffe that he had had since he was a baby. Wally was originally a wonderful hand-made giraffe that Ryan would play with none stop. Three years later, Wally was a...Well...Let's just say Wally looked better back then.
"So?"
"He might be lonely."
Kate struggled for an excuse.
"I don't think he's lonely. He has all your other toys to play with."
"But I think he misses me"
Kate struggled to change the subject.
"Hey! Do you want to go get some ice cream? I already had some so I thought we could go to the ice cream shop and buy some."
"Okay. Fine."

Kate and Ryan headed for the ice cream shop. It was just down the road. The only thing Kate was forgetting was that to get to the ice cream shop, they had to pass their house. When they approached their block, Kate got goosebumps. She was scared to death of what or even who is in their house. As they walked by the house, it was like a house she had never seen before. She stared at one of the windows. All of the sudden, the curtains of that window quickly closed. Kate's  hair on the back of her neck stood up. She rushed Ryan along the sidewalk, hoping that he didn't see it.
"C...Come on Ryan. We don't want all the ice cream to melt before we get there."
"I don't think it melts until we get there."
"Let's just hurry. "
"Fine."
Kate and Ryan finally entered the ice cream shop.
"Welcome to Sally's Ice Cream Shop! What can we get for you this afternoon?"asked a employee.
"I think he will have one scoop of..."
"Chocolate!" Ryan exclaimed.
"Okay. Chocolate please."
"And sprinkles!" Ryan interrupted.
"Okay. Is that all?" asked the employee.
"Yes. That's it."
"Okay coming right up."
After Ryan received his ice cream, the employee asked, "So, aren't you a little young to be buying things on your own?"
"I don't think so. I'm already ten years-"
"And I'm three!" interrupted Ryan.
"Well, where are your parents?"
"They're running errands."
"Okay. Are they gonna pick you up from here?"
"I think so."
"Do you need me to wait with you until your parents get here so you don't get hurt?"
"Sure."
They waited for about 45 minutes until there parents came. They kindly thanked the employee for all her help.
Kate and her family went home. She was very nervous. Whatever or whoever was in their house was still there and who knows what would happen when it found them.
