3. Out of Bounds (Harry Potter)
"Manon is that you?!" I called out when I saw a familiar back head in the crowd of the Great Hall.
Throughout the whole day, I had done nothing but take a stroll around the castle...three or five times. That's how boring it was here. Enough to go around a stupid castle five times over! I left Draco himself, not wanting to bother. So whilst he was busy with whatever he was doing, I was off on my own. I didn't really feel in the mood to make more friends in my house. I was just fine with friends I made the previous night, as of now. Pansy was no other option, neither was my roommate. That backbone less little girl. So I just walked. Explored the castle. Not much fun. But at least I got to know the place better. Found loads of secret passages, the Room of Requirements was definitely my favorite.
"Elsie Malfoy?" My name rolled off her tongue with ease. Whenever I heard my name, or my brother's for the matter, there was a slight distaste in the pronunciation. Mostly by the Gryffindors though. I didn't take it the least bit personal. Though I wasn't used to it at all.
Manon Leclerc was a friend I made in France. Though I had only met her in the summer. You see, she attends a wizarding school in England during the school year, and on summer vacation, she went back to France Her home land. I had met her when I was invited to an 'All Purebloods' party a couple months back. We quickly hit it off when the two of us were accidentally chosen to be in a closet for seven minutes. The awkwardness to have a girl and another girl walk into a closet, in front of all your friends. They wouldn't stop their bloody jokes after that night. But regardless, I made a new friend.
Of course, she and I had to part ways after two months of constantly hanging out. She was visiting the remainder of her family back in Gascogne. Where she was born and raised till the age of 11. (When she then went to attend Hogwarts.) When I say remainder, it was really just her aunt, uncle, and a cousin or two. Her parents were murdered by people, she didn't want to tell me about. It was her business, so I left it at that.
We ran to each other, and met halfway in the crowd of people. Hugging each other tightly, obviously missing each other. It had been an entire month since I had seen her. But we kept in touch, with out cell phones and all. What would my parents say about me having a muggle device? They would probably disown me.
"Are you still raving on about this 'George Weasley' fellow?" I taunted with a playful smirk on my face. She would constantly rant on and on about him. How he made her heart flutter, smile whenever she just saw him, and just the general feelings of a girl infatuated with a boy. When she explained her feelings for him, and his name, I decided to leave out the part where I actually knew his family already. Not by personal experiences, our Fathers had worked in the same place.
"Oh hush up!" Manon punched my shoulder, suddenly turning red. I laughed as my vision focused on the people behind her, the ones she ditched to talk to me. It was Harry, (I'd hate to admit, but I had him on my mind the entire day also), a girl with brunette hair, (who looked similar to Manon), and a bunch of red heads. It didn't take a lot to figure out those were the Weasleys. I bit my bottom lip from laughing more. He could've heard me, which would've been hell for her if he had.
"Sorry. My lips are sealed." I pretended to zip my mouth shut, and lock it with a imaginary key. For the finishing touch? I threw it away.
"You know what I never knew?" She started as we slowly walked toasted her friends. I looked at her, as we walked.
"What?"
"You're-" I already knew how this realization was going to end. I mean I was pretty obvious.
"Related to Draco Malfoy." We both said at the same time.
"Jinx!" We both pointed at each other. "Knock on wood!" We knocked on the wood dining tables, and said: "You owe me a soda! No you! Me?! You! Double jinx!"

Fanfiction"I'm afraid that if I say friends you'll hit me." Harry joked after a moment of thinking it over. I let out a small, amused chuckle when he said that. Punching his shoulder lightly, he pretends that I hit him really hard. "Ow! You see what I mean?"...
