Chapter 2
After years of extensive research. I discovered the existence of a magical stone that was made to enhance alchemical reactions, "The Philosopher's Stone", it is said to be able to cast alchemy without the requirement of exchange. Although it is still unknown who or when it was made, but it is only a rumour that it exists and it sounds too farfetched, but that reason was enough to drive me forward. After all, rumours must start from somewhere and alchemy itself was hard to believe when it was discovered. With my vast knowledge of the alchemic arts , even though they were cheap immitations, I was able to escape the organisation that imprisoned me for so long. Not to mention I burned their base to the ground and set free the others that were captured with me.
In one of the research books I read through, I found something that hinted to the location of the Philosopher's stone, in the book it was called a red stone so it took me awhile to understand. The location that the book mentioned was a place that I was very familiar with, in my hometown that was decimated 5 years ago, the ruins of Bincheng.
Seeing the ruined town stirred up a feeling of nostalgia, actually it was more of a village than it was a town, I recalled both the happy memories of when I played here as a child and the haunting memory of when soldiers attacked my town, the day my mother and little brother were taken away from me forever... I looked and imagine what everything used to be like, I even clearly remembered exactly where they were standing when they died, I then payed my respect to them. When I finally obtain the Philosopher's Stone, I will revive them all, whatever it takes. I wonder who could have possibly make something of this magnitude, to be able to defy the laws of god, just how much did this person sacrifice.
I checked in all the houses, in every single drawer, every single detail of the entire village, but my search was useless as I found nothing. I was in a state of confusion, my translation of the ancient text clearly stated that the secrets of the Philosopher's Stone " rests on Bincheng". I had no clue what did that even mean. Then, as I saw a blade of leaf restiong on the surface of a pond, the answer came to me.
The answer to the unsolved mystery, the key word in the sentence of the ancient texts was the word "on". It would usually mean on top of something, so maybe the clue is something I could find from the top view of the village. So I climbed up to the top of a nearby mountain to look at the village with a perspective from the top. What I saw was an amazing view, the beautiful landscape covered completely green and the wind rushing in my face, I was in a state of ecstasy I have never felt before, back when I was young, they would never allow me to take a step outside the village, so this is a first for me. Looking at the village below I found my answer...
The layout of the huts and houses were made exactly as the continents of the world map and my house, represented Asia, there was something about my house that stood out from the others, there was a mark on top of the roof, it brought back the mermories of my childhood, the time where my dad, Ignius Agustine Newton had put that mark on the roof as a momento when he left the house to do his work, he was nothing but a worthless father in my eyes, he left us in our time of need, when our family was poor, yet despite everything my mother still loved him. The though of my father putting that mark on the house and remembering the fact that my father was the architect that made every building in the village made me pull out my book where I found the all important clue that led me here. The author of that book was a man by the name "Ian", when I looked at it carefully, those were the initials of my father.
