"I really don't understand you Maria!" Alice yelled as we were walking out of school "One of the most popular and hottest guys in school are into you, but you won't go out with him?!"
"Alice, i've already told you. I don't like Jimmy, he's not my kind of guy. I bet he slept with at least 10 girls from our school" i replied
"He did not, come on, he's only eighteen"
"Even if he didn't, i don't care! I don't like him, and he's older than me"
"Oh please, he's one year older than you. AND he's an amazing guitarist. So many girls would love to be in your position right now"
"That's not my problem and i can't do anything about that"
"Alright, but maybe one day you'll regret it" she said and shortly after we made it to her house, and i left her there.
As i was walking home, i heard someone calling my name. I turned around to see..him
"Oh.. hey Jimmy" i said
"Hey! Where are you going?"
"Home i guess, why?"
"Um, welĺ i don't know, would you like to take a walk with me or something?" he asked and i really didn't know what to answer because i was okaywoth taking a walk with him but i didn't want to give him a wrong sign
"Yeah, why not" i simply replied and he glared
"Alright, let's go" he said "Come on, i want to show you something" he said and took my hand
Ok i could just let go of his hand but that would be uncomfortable so i just sticked with it
We were walking for about 2,3 minutes and he hasn't said a word. By then he already let go of my hand. We entered like a smaller forest and we continued walking so i had to break the silence
"I'm sorry but where exactly are we and where are we going?"
"There's a lake here in the woods, that has a beautiful shore and all the nature is very pretty and i think you'll like it" he answered and i didn't say anything back
Shortly after we were in front of the lake he was speaking of
"Wow.. This is truly wonderful" i said. It really was amazing
"I knew you would like it" he smiled and looked at me
Then we sat on the shore and started talking
"I love nature, don't you?" he asked me
"I do too, it's truly fascinating" i replied "I've heard you're into music also?"
"Mhm, it's my passion. Are you?"
"I am, yeah. I play the piano and the guitar. But i don't think that's what i'm going to do in life, honestly. I love writing more" i said
I noticed he hasn't stopped looking at me as i spoke
"That's wonderful" he said after a few moments "My dream is to become a guitarist, but that's probably impossible"
"Seriously? Don't be foolish, of course it's not impossible, everything's possible. If that's your dream, it is possible. Just believe in yourself Jimmy" i told him and he was still staring at me
"That's so great of you. If i ever make it as a guitarist, i sure will thank you for believing in me" he said and i smiled
we stayed there and talked for about an hour more and then i remembered that i had to be home
"Oh shoot, Jimmy i have to go. My parents will kill me" i stood up and he did too
"Alright i'll follow you home" he said.
We arrived in front of my house and as i wanted to turn around to get inside my house he took my hand
"Maria, i can't hide it. I really like you. I know we met just a couple of days ago but i needed to tell you that" he said
"Jimmy, i-" i didn't know to say and not to sound awkward or something. He looked at me and leaned a little closer to me. Soon he kissed my lips softly and i stood there confused but didn't break the kiss
After our lips separated he smiled and said
"See you at school Maria" and walked away.
I got inside my house and processed what happened and what i've done actually.
Great. Now he probably thinks that we're together or something
Let's get this clear, it's not that i don't like him, i do, i really do, he's a great guy and we have so much in common. But i don't want a relationship with him. I know he's the kind of guy that will soon leave me for someone else.
*the narrator from sponge bob voice* tomorrow

"Really?? And you kissed??" Alice asked and i rolled my eyes
"Yes, and i regret everything" i answered and we sat down at the lunch table "Look, i've got to know him, he's a great guy and all but i don't want to be with him. End of story" i said and before she could say anything else i saw him walking towards us and said "Ok here he comes, leave!!" i said and laughed and she laughed back and said
"Alright, alright i'll leave you two alone" she said walking away" and he came closer
"Hey" he said with the biggest smile on his face
''Hey Jimmy, can we talk?" i asked and he sat beside me
"Yeah, what's up?"
"Listen, i know that you like me and i like you too, honestly, but what happened yesterday.. i just don't think things will work out you know?" as soon as i said that he frowned "I'm sorry, maybe one day we can be together, but for now i just want to stay friends"
"Oh.. okay, if that's how you feel, it's okay with me" he said
I could see the sad look in his eyes and i felt SO guilty.
After that, we never spoke again. I could just catch him looking at me. But after a month or so, he got a girlfriend and i must say i was very jealous. But, it's my fault right?
