When I met you,
You told me you hated cigarettes.
You told me that I should quit,
And did I? You bet.
I thought that if I
Left those cancer sticks behind,
That your lips might replace them
On mine.
I thought that maybe
If I quit smoking
You would like me a little more
But myself? I was only joking.
There was no way a guy like you
Could ever like a girl like me,
I didn't want to believe it,
But we were never meant to be.
Eventually I got tired of waiting
For you to replace those darts,
So I went back to them,
With you only in my heart.
