I can hear the winds of summer calling
My seasonal lover's sweet song
The sun is rising, golden and shining
The winds are warm as the days grow long
A chilly breeze wraps around my soul
The days grow darker as the leaves turn brown
My lover is gone, leaving a heart black as coal
The minutes tick by slowly, as autumn rolls into town
The icy hand of winter knocks on my door
Fall has fallen, and whiteness blankets my heart, frozen
No hope can grow while smothered, mine is no more
I sit alone in this winter, helpless and broken
My frozen bones creak in the great thaw of spring
My hope sprouts shoots that will eventually flower
The leaves rustle as the trees sing
I rise, renewed, awaiting the return of my seasonal lover
