Cinderheart was back at the camp. It was nearly dawn and she still couldn't sleep. She kept looking at Sandstorm and then caught an idea.

I think Firestar wants to play! Cinderheart snarled. She poked Brambleclaw, who was beside her, till he woke up. "What is it, Firestar?" He groaned. "Oh its you, Cinderheart.".

Cinderheart nodded nervously and meowed, "Can I talk to you, outside the camp?". Brambleclaw nodded and they padded out of the camp. "What do you want me to know?" He mewed while yawning.

"Um.. can I go out with Sandstorm for Dawn Patrol?" Cinderheart mewed, embarrassed. "Sure. Go wake her up." Brambleclaw padded away from her and slowly lay down in the warrior's den.

Cinderheart followed, and poked Sandstorm's eyes. Sandstorm let out an angry hiss, knocking Cinderheart back in shock. "Oh, sorry Cinderheart. I thought you were Squirrelflight." She meowed gently.

"It's okay. Brambleclaw said we need to go on dawn patrol." Cinderheart and Sandstorm padded out of camp.

"I can smell Riverclan scent markers. Are you sure you know where we're going??" Sandstorm hissed. Cinderheart nodded. Too bad it'll be the last time you smell it!! She laughed silently.

Cinderheart stopped. She turned to the ginger she-cat with claws unsheathed. "What are you--" Sandstorm was cut off by a shriek of pain. Cinderheart raked her belly and then jumped back.

She let out a deadly blow to the back. The ginger cat wailed in pain as she fell on the ground.

"W-why? W-why did you do this to m-me??" Sandstorm meowed as she shivered and shaked. "Firestar is mine, fox heart." She snarled. Sandstorm gasped and her flank lay still.

Sandstorm was dead!! Cinderheart giggled and sniffed the air. She smelled Riverclan. It was fresh and she could hear breathing. She turned around to see a black cat, but it was a rogue. She was to fat too be a clan cat, but to small to be a kittypet.

"Why would you kill it?" It wondered. Cinderheart snarled and showed her sharp teeth. It wailed and ran away.

Typical. Cinderheart thought. She washed her claws and her fur to make sure no blood was on her. Her heart raced and realized it was sun-high. She could smell the hunting patrol for Thunderclan.

No! She yowled silently. She quickly dragged the ginger she-cat's lifeless body in a bush and climbed the nearest tree. The people on patrol was Squirrelflight, Leafpool, and Firestar.

"I smell Thunderclan. Fresh too. Maybe Sandstorm and Cinderheart is here." Cinderheart heard Squirrelflight meow. "They're scent is across Riverclan territory. Maybe they've been here recently, but left." Leafpool muttered.

Firestar's green eyes were not filled with sorrow or anger; it was filled with pain. Cinderheart's heart skipped a beat. "But if they left recently it wouldn't be so fresh. What do you think, Firestar??" Squirrelflight pointed out.

"... I don't know." Firestar meowed quietly. "Let's just keep looking.". They padded away, while Leafpool asked her father something. Firestar nodded slowly and padded away. Firestar's head faced the ground and his tail dragged against the floor

I'll have to get used to this if I'm going to kill more of his lovers, Cinderheart laughed silently. "Squirrelflight, I think they're here." Leafpool mewed. Yes I am, Cinderheart jumped off the tree, on the other side.

She hid in the grass for a few heartbeats and scratched herself down the side, and she made sure it was deep. She sheathed her claws and yowled in pain. "What was that??" Squirrelflight looked around. "Over here Leafpool!!".

The sisters ran into the grass and saw my "limp" body. Leafpool gasped in surprise. "W-what happened?!? Where's Sandstorm??" Squirrelflight yowled. Suddenly, another fiery-orange coloured pelt entered the tall grass. It was Firestar. "Cinderheart!!" He wailed. "Where's Sandstorm??"

She gulped and meowed,

"She's dead.".
