(Saphire's POV)
Walking out of the shower to
find my room now empty I dropped the towel to start putting on my clothes.
Today I chose to wear my black skinny jeans, a matching black and white all stars, a white tank top and my black leather jacket, I did my hair in a messy bun leaving out some strands at the side to fall in my face and with that I grabbed my school bag and my black aviator sunglasses and sprinted out the door and down the stairs, looking like the badass I am.
As I sped down the stairs with the help of semi-wolf speed, people from the pack greeted me by saying 'Luna' or 'Alpha' or 'Alpha Female', honestly I didn't mind being called alpha because being called alpha meant that you were a leader, a fighter, a protector, and a good one at that.
Normally the title alpha is passed down through blood line, which means and alpha would mate with their mate or anyone they pleased to get pups with, even though mates were said to be sacred, and if they did have a pup and it was a girl they would try repeatedly until they got a boy that boy when he turned 18 would take the title alpha instead of the girl (sexist I know right) but that's just how it works in the wolf society.
Sitting around the large 20 seating family dinner table in the pack house, which was one of the items retrieved from the the old and partially burnt pack house when I was 14 , I looked at it and it reminded me of the many dinners I had with my family when I was a kid, sometimes I would just come down here in the middle of the night and sit where I used to, which would be the 3rd seat down on the left side of the alpha and Luna, sometimes, if I concentrated really hard, I could actually envision them there serving food and eating it just like one big happy family, but I guess that's no more.
I was greeted by all with the bowing of heads to me and saying good morning, some called me alpha some called me Luna, even though I didn't officially have the title yet because I was technically still under age but no one cared because they still told me that they saw no one else worthy to lead the newly formed 'Blood Cursed Pack'
The name was form from the reminiscence of a how our old / original pack was wipe of the face of the earth.
Then suddenly I heard the quickening of steps almost in a running manner coming through the house coming towards the dining room, I paused and listened as the persons approached nearer until they came to a halt right outside the doors that's connected the dining room to the living area.
The doors burst open, and frantically in came two lower ranking wolves, Mason and Conrad, if I could remember correctly.
"L-l-l-luna w-we apologize for our intrusion but we have a message", Mason I presume stuttered.
"What is it?", I asked with one eyebrow slightly lifted.
"It is from........... Alpha White", the other one Conrad began."He said he would like a meeting between you an him, said that its important....".
'What the hell does he want now, that bastard', I thought to my self.
"Wait.....how did you end up with such a message, if an Alpha wants to talk with me they would call, is this some trick!", I yelled, even though I could tell they were about to shit their pants, let's just say I'm not a morning person.
"N-n-n-no it's n-n-not a trick, he actually did give us this message-".
"How!!" I raised my voiced slightly enough to make them flinch but also enough to accidentally draw attention to the whole pack house." Go back to what you were doing!!!". I looked around at my pack members and the ruses back to what they were doing as if they were just eavesdropping on a conversation that's none of their business.
"Because he's at the border of the our pack lands....and we came across him and his group of men, said he would like permission to enter your land.
"Okay, your dismissed", they scampered off to god knows where.
'What does that conniving wolf actually want' I thought to myself.
I mind linked my beta and beta female, Marcus and Caroline to report to me because it was urgent, also my peacemaker Lucus. When they arrived I explained what I was told and they all listened.
"What does that dipshit want now.....that's the only thing he does anyways 'want things'......but he couldn't even help us when our pack was struggling to get back together and we asked-no begged for his help". Caroline was very emotional at times when she felt strongly for something, and who could blame her, besides she was right.
But even though she had a point disrespecting an alpha was looked upon as a challenge, and could be punished by being chained with silver which would force you to be in wolf form or even death if said Alpha deemed it, so I let out a low warning growl just to rein her in, Marcus was immediately by her side holding her hand while rubbing small circles on the inner part of her wrist, soothing her.
This didn't go unnoticed by me.
Don't get me wrong I know that mates are sacred and all, and from what I've heard on multiple occasions it's the best thing that could happen to you but still, I questioned it there was a mate out there for something like me and sometimes what it would feel like waking up not alone.
I was pulled out of my unnerving thoughts by Marcus."So what are we going to do about Alpha White?".
"I think it's best to see what he wants-".
"So we're just gonna let him waltz into our pack-", shouted Caroline, but I cut her off with a unnaturally deep growl, she instantly coward behind Marcus that was trying sheiks her from me.
Even though me and my wolf see her as a friend, we don't take disrespect from anyone or thing, and I was just about ready to teach her a lesson if it wasn't for her mate. I probably shouldn't show her so much leniency because it tends to get to people's head.
"As I was saying......Marcus get 8 warriors to accompany us, five will walk with us while three stay hidden incase White tries any thing".
"Yes Luna" he replied, and with that he was out the room pulling Caroline with him.
I turned towards the window in the dining room that over looked the forest beside the house and thought to myself,
'What do you want White'.
