Evelyn's POV

I closed my eyes and took a deep breath. I welcomed the cold and crispy air that filled my lungs. All was quiet except for the faint sound of a heartbeat. I could hear him and I could smell him. My eyes snapped open and a smile formed on my lips. He was wounded. His blood was calling out to me, it was so inviting that my mouth started to water. I closed my eyes once more and sucked in a breath. I couldn't wait any longer; I surrendered to my natural instincts, and headed forward. I followed his scent quickly and silently, like a hunting cat. I finally spotted him and slowed my pace down to a walk. His rusty, auburn hair was flattened and his leafy green eyes held fear. He was clenching his arm tightly and shaking. Blood staining his shirt; the rich, red colour easy to notice. I made my way over to him; I saw his eyes brighten up a little.

"Hello? Can you help me please? I just went for a walk and I got lost. I can't find the trail, it's too dark,'' he said.

My eyes were fixed on the stain of blood, but I managed to smile and nod at him.

''Oh thank you, thank you so much. I fell and cut my arm and I think I got splinters in it. Do you have any water for me to clean it out?" he sighed with relief.

I wondered my eyes all over him and stopped at his arm. I licked my lips and flashed him a smile.   Then I was only inches away from him, he gasped and stepped back a couple of paces. "What the... What? How?" he panicked.

I tilted my head to a side and said, "I'll help you. I can take away the pain".

"Really?" he asked a little breathless.

I smirked and cleared my throat in an attempt to calm the fire that was raging inside of me. "This won't hurt a bit" I said, my voice sweet and husky. Confusion flooded his features. Before he had any chance to react I launched myself at him.

I bit down onto his soft neck, and started to suck the blood and life out of him. He was wriggling and squirming, but still I held him tight. Soon his struggles became weak, and his limbs failed. I supported his weight until I had drained every ounce of his blood. I felt myself being charged up, I had quenched my thirst and fed my hunger. I licked my lips clean, looked down at the body, and said "Sorry dude. You should never ask for help from a vampire".
