Me and Michael had always been best friends. Ever since the first grade. But I'm not gonna start our story there, I'm gonna start during the summer of 2013. The year Michael left me without saying a word.

It was the hottest day of the year, I felt like if I paused from my walk, my skin would melt off of my body and I would just be a puddle of skin and bones. Anyways, the walk from my house to Michaels wasn't that long. It was about a 15 minute walk. But today, it felt like a 6 hour walk in the Sahara desert. I felt like with every step I took the hot cement was burning away the soles of my shoes. Plus I chose to wear my black ripped jeans that day so that didn't help at all. Sooner or later I found myself in Michaels drive way and then knocking on his door. "Well hey Maddie, haven't seen you in a while" I chuckled at Michaels mom. "hey Mrs. Clifford, is Michael here"? "He's upstairs in his room, let me go get him". I proceeded to wait in what felt like 600 degree weather for my asshole of a best friend to come downstairs. "Well look at this hottie" I hear Michael yell. "Fuck off" I laughed. "Just speaking the truth" he smiled. I rolled my eyes. "Let's go you big goof"

Michael was acting very different that day, the way he looked at me, how he would always want to stay as close as possible, everything was different about him. "Maddie, I have a surprise for you" Michael said pulling my arm. "But you gotta keep your eyes clothes" he said. "What's going on"? I laughed while closing my eyes. I could feel Michael pulling me along the streets of Melbourne. "Michael slow down"! I laughed. Soon we stopped. "Ok" he said "open your eyes" I opened my eyes to see our old elementary school. Next to the play ground was a blanket with a little basket sitting on it. "What is this"? I said looking at Michael. "Well, I thought today should be a day for just me and you". I smiled at Michael. "I'd love to spend today with you". I can't deny it, Michael had a way of making my heart sing with joy when I saw him and heard his voice. He made me the happiest I could be. I honestly didn't want the feeling that Michael gave me to go away. "Cmon Maddie lets go" I hear Michael yell at me. I ran over to my best friend. "I brought you your favorite" Michael smiled, pulling out a small bag of my favorite type of cake. "Michael! You're literally the sweetest on this earth". "Only for you" he smiled. I nudged Michael "stop being so damn cute" I blushed. "Can I tell you something Maddie"? I looked over at Michael "of course" I smiled. Fear began to rush through my body. And it was for a very good reason..

"I'm in love with you Maddie" he said to me, looking directly into my eyes. "I've loved you since the day I saw you sitting on that bench over there, I love you Maddie". "M-Michael I don't know what to say". "You're supposed to say I love you too" and with that Michael leaned in and kissed me. I felt so much passion in our kiss. Like so much love was being hid behind an invisible wall inside our bodies. "Michael, I'm sorry" i said as a tear began to fall from my face. "I can't Michael, I can't lose you as a friend". Michael looked at me with pain in his eyes. "You're never gonna lose me, I promised you I would never leave, and I will never break it". But little did I know, that was complete udder bullshit.Thank you for reading, it's not the best but I'm trying really hard. Hope you enjoy 😊😊
