Merlin speaks to Arthur gently, "Arthur  if I'm going to tell you everything I wish you would put away your sword and let me make a fire. This will take a long time and you might as well settle in, you may do whatever you would like to me when I have finished. I won't resist you Arthur." He would never go against Arthur.

Arthur purses his lips and gives a tight nod. He puts his sword away with a shink.

They make quick work of making a small camp, Arthur being unwilling to go back to camp as he hadn't made up his mind.

Merlin pulls out the flint out of habit and starts to strike it. Gwaine frowns, "why don't you just start it with magic? Are you powerful enough I mean I know you have some power as Dragoon."

Merlin looks at him in curiosity and his eyes dart to Arthur, who nods. Merlin looks at the wood and his eyes flash a brilliant gold. Out of the corner of his eye he sees the Knights tense slightly.

A flickering fire erupts on the wood, heating them all instantly. Merlin swallows and averts his eyes.

Gwaine, being the one most comfortable with Merlin as he traveled to lands with magic everywhere, props himself up and sighs, "so Mr. Sorcerer-"

"-Warlock," Merlin interrupted with out looking up or hesitating.

"What?" Gwaine frowns.

Merlin looks up at the dark knight, "I'm a Warlock not a sorcerer."

"What's the difference?" Arthur's curiosity gets the best of him.

Merlin looks over at him and makes himself comfortable much like Gwaine. "A warlock is born with magic, a sorcerer has to learn to have power. Even then some have no capability of magic. I had no choice in the matter. Mother says my eyes were gold when I was born, she didn't even know the color of my eyes then. I was moving things before I could talk."

Gwaine rolls his eyes, "well then Mr. Warlock what other brilliant deeds are you going to tell us of? Oh tell us one that's funny! Enough of this seriousness. Merlin? Do ya think you could magic me up some ale? I ran out last night."  Gwaine look at the warlock sheepishly.

It's Merlin's turn to roll his eyes, and with a flash of melding gold a pitcher of ale appeared before the drunken knight. "Mate you are the best man I've ever met." Leon rolls his eyes as the other Knights groan. Gwaine just grind at them.

Merlin chuckled and purses his lips to one side thinking for a funny story. "Hey Gwaine, you wanna hear the story about how I almost killed Arthur?" Just like that several heads snap towards him. "Just chill it wasn't really me... Hear the story first then judge," Merlin rolls his eyes.

Merlin turns his back on them and untied his neckerchief just enough to show a small line across the nape of his neck, "do you remember when Arthur and I got separated from our group in a mercenary attack and I was wounded in the Valley of the Fallen Kings? Then there was another attack on Arthur and I, but before the second wave could get to Arthur a rockfall blocks them and I was captured." Merlin raises his eyebrows slightly.

Arthur's face fills with realization, "you caused the rockfall didn't you?"

Merlin shifted and looked up, begging for him to understand, "I couldn't let them get to you Arthur, I couldn't let them hurt you. There were too many. I couldn't let everything be for nothing."

Arthur swallows and nods, a small spark beginning to light in his eyes. The Knights one by one settle down with the two.

Merlin smiles, "I was captured by Morgana and taken to her house." Arthur's eyes widen and there are several swift intakes of breath.

Arthur snarls at Merlin, "you were captured? I'm going to kill her."

While Gwaine whines, "I thought it was going to be funny? This is just depressing."

Merlin chuckles, "just wait. Agravaine wanted at kill me, but Morgana was convinced I would be useful."

Arthur snarls at the thought of his half-sister getting her hands on Merlin.

"She didn't and still doesn't know I have magic. She just thinks I just have a habit of getting in the way of her  plans," Merlin laughs, ignoring Arthur. "So then Morgana calls forth a Fomorroh with a dark spell, which is a many headed snake and when implanted into someone's neck they will be under the control of who called it. As she pushed it into my neck she gave me the task that would consume me until it was done. Kill Arthur Pendragon. I-I," Merlin faltered slightly, "don't remember anything after that but Gaius and Gwen told me some. Apparently I took some poison and tried to lace your food but Gwen had already prepared you lunch."

Arthur smirks, remembering this.

Gwaine was leaning forward eagerly for the story of how this small man attempted and failed at killing his friend and King.

"Then I set up a crossbow in Arthur's wardrobe to shoot when he opens the door but the prat didn't open it wide enough." Merlin laughs with Gwaine joining him.

Leon cracks up and when asked why he responded, "earlier that day I was in the armory with Merlin when he asked me which would be best used to kill Arthur. I thought he was joking and told him, asking if he was getting on his nerves. He then said not for much longer."

Merlin and Gwaine grinned, Arthur scoffed and Percival rolls his eyes.

"Then I tried to stab you with your ceremonial sword but knocked myself out on a stone piller."

Everyone busted up laughing at this, especially Arthur.

"My next attempt was turning Arthur's bath to acid with salts." Arthur groans, remembering a bath incident, Merlin grins at him. "Which Gwen knocked me out with a pitcher before Arthur came out from the changing screen." Arthur blushes slightly, remembering.

"Gaius and Gwen sedate the head and revive the real me. I learn that if they take the snake out of me it will just grow back. It can only be killed if the main body is destroyed. I use the spell to become Dragoon and set off to Morgana's hut." Merlin smirks, "unfortunately I meet the Knights of the Round Table before I get there."

Said Knights groan.

"I tried to talk my way out but they would have none of it so I had to paralyze them with magic-"

"Gwaine interrupts loudly, "you didn't have to use us as stairs!"

Merlin smirks, "no but it's good fun. Besides you try to get on your horse on your own when your that age!" Arthur chuckles.

"I have a magical fight with Morgana and destroy the Fomorroh." Merlin finishes with a shrug.

"Merlin?" Gwaine frowns, "why didn't you use your magic to kill Arthur?"

Merlin looks at Gwaine seriously, then shifts his gaze to his Pratness, "my magic would never let me. You must understand, I am not like most sorcerers. My magic runs through my veins like blood, it is me, I am magic. My magic was born to protect Arthur. It could never allow me to harm my king. Though I was not in control my magic, I, did everything I could to protect Arthur. I would give my life, my magic, up to save Arthur in a heartbeat."

Gwaine, Arthur, and the Knights stared at the warlock in shock. Then Arthur smiled at his brother and stretched out onto the log behind him, kicking his feet up by the fire, "what other stories do you have?" Finally Arthur relaxed with the rest of them.
