"Laetaya, go get the flowers dear," her grandmother said.
Right. The flowers. Why me in the first place? Can't she just get Tanna to do it? I mean, she can help, right? And I'm tired from working on this summer assignment too! Plus it's getting late. I just wish that I can go back home and relax.
I know that it's not nice to be disrespectful to the elders but... I mean...I need some sleep. This summer is about to be over and tomorrow is the first day back at school!
I just can't believe this. I have to walk there because I can't use my space motorcycle. It's just that...um...sure...I mean...I learned my lesson. I didn't mean to hurt Moncho by giving him a black eye...(and other injuries.) Because it was all an accident! I didn't mean to do it!
What do you expect coming from a tomboy?
I mean...she wouldn't let me walk from place to place like this for the whole entire week...right?...right?...
I'm pretty sure when this is all over, I'm gonna be so-o-o-o tired from walking. It's like...what? Two hours away? Worst punishment ever. Well...if you compare it to school work...then probably not.
_______________
When I got to the store, I bought a bouquet of Golden flowers for the New Year. It's a very special type of flower on this planet. We believe that Golden flowers were a gift to humans from the God of the Water himself for healing purposes.
The flowers only grow once a year and they can live for about 10 years before dying off. But they're very hard to find and if you pick them, the Golden flowers will only live for about a month or two.
Saying that, something has been bothering me about my grandmother. Hmmm... 'cause she knows a way to keep the flowers alive for like...three more months. I wonder how she does this?
I'll have to think about it later, I guess...oh wait! There's actually a romantic legend from the past that might at least explain some of it!
A long time ago, there was a couple. They travelled around this planet, searching for a new home. But one day something happened to his love. She was very sick. The man tried every type of healing method, but none of them worked. He knew that she was going to die. But luckily he never gave up.
In fact, this guy was a Bridge User and inside of him, was a spirit...and you guessed it...the spirit was the God of Water!
When his spirit saw how determined the man was and how he never gave up, he decided to give him a bag of seeds from the Golden flower that can heal any injury and bring good luck to whoever has it. The Bridge User agreed to take it.
He mixed some of the seeds with water to make a magic potion that healed his love. Once she got better, the couple decided to plant the rest of the seeds on this planet wherever they went.
Still today, people wonder if there are any of those seeds left, ones that have never been planted.
Even me! Well it's just that...I wanna get my hands on one of them seeds so that I can be lucky for the rest of my life! I mean who wants to be unlucky? I've been living an unlucky life like forever and I need to fix this!
Well, that's the end of the story. I hope that one day I will have someone like that to take care of me. But most importantly...I wonder if there is anyone out there for me?
Let's just forget about that for now and think about the New Year instead. It's going to be pretty exciting. I feel all pumped up about it! I just can't wait, because there's going to be fried food on a stick and...I can't believe that we're still eating fried food on a stick! Things haven't changed too much in 2000 years when it comes to food!
