The London Eye

Olive's POV

After asking about 20 people, taking a million and two wrong turns and walking for 5 hours with a bag on our shoulder and a heavy violin case in our hand, Melanie and I finally reached the London Eye.

"Hey, we should go inside a cafe or something really quick and go to the bathroom so we can freshen up really quick." Melanie said.

"Yeah, good idea." I said back to her. We found a nearby cafe that actually had a bathroom and went inside. It was the kind of bathroom where only one person is supposed to be in there and you could lock the door. We both went in together, and we got suspicious looks from people. It makes sense though, because they don't know what we've been through in just a month.

We took two toothbrushes, a tube of toothpaste, a hair brush, a comb, some soap, and two warm jackets from Benton's house. Along with the two violins of course. We brushed our teeth quickly in the sink, brushed our hair, then washed our faces and used the bathroom. While one went, the other just turned around.

Then we stepped out again. More suspicious stares. We didn't care though. We just walked back out of the little restaurant again with our bags.

"Let's find a spot to set up," Melanie said.

"Good idea," I said. We walked around for a little bit, and finally settled on a spot that was near a subway entrance.

We unpacked Diana and April, and set out the jar to collect money. Diana was a woody brown, and the shade got lighter the closer it came to the middle. April was also woody, but it was a very red wood, and she looked like she had a tiger pattern of the sides.

I played April, and Melanie played Diana. "What song should we play first? It has to be one that we've both memorized.." I said. Melanie has a lot of songs memorized, but I didn't know how to play half of them. I couldn't remember songs very well.

"We both know Burst right? We can play that first I guess.." She suggested.

"That one's fine I guess." I said.

We began to play Burst, which was a song that we had learned for a concert in school.

After Burst, we played We Will Rock You, The Hanging Tree, My Heart Will Go On by Celine Dion, Tag You're It by Melanie Martinez, Cry Baby by Melanie Martinez, Canon, and String Chant. Playing all those songs took about 20 minutes.

We took a small break, because our arms hurt from holding up the violin and bowing so fast. We checked the jar to see how much people had donated to us. Not too many people given us money. We didn't know how much things costed in London compared to things in the U.S., so we didn't really know if we actually had a lot or not.

"2 pounds..I don't think that's too much here.." Melanie said.

"Yeah.." I said, " We should keep playing. It's getting kind of cold, and hopefully playing will keep us warm."

"Good idea," She said.

We couldn't decide what other songs to play, so we just kept playing those same songs over and over again. We kept playing those same songs until it was probably 9 o' clock at night, and not too many people were left to donate money.

"I think we should just find somewhere to sleep.. Benton always made us go sleep early, like at 6 o' clock, so it feels really late for me.." Olive said after playing String Chant for the last time that day.

"Yeah, let's get out the jackets and find a bench or something to sleep on." I said, then began packing up Diana, and Olive began to pack up April.

We found two benches that were right next to each other that were under a tree. We opened our bags and took out the jackets that we had taken from his house and put them on. They were pretty warm to be honest. The bench was pretty comfy too.

I laid down on one bench, and Melanie laid on the other one.

"Good night Melanie.." I said.

"Good night Olive.." she said back with a yawn.

*TIME SKIP; THREE DAYS LATER; STILL OLIVE'S POV*

Another long day of playing the same songs over and over again for 12 hours. Olive and I ate when we got up then again before we slept. It wasn't much though, just a slice of white bread with some peanut butter. That's all we've eaten in the past 72 hours, since we never did get any food from Benton on that last day there.

"It's the end of the day again and all together we still have only.. 6 pounds and an empty pack of cigarettes. I don't think that 6 pounds is a lot.." Olive said.

"I don't think so either.." I said "We may be able to buy some water or something though."I

"I guess.." She said.

We walked into the cafe that we had been going into to use the bathroom, and as usual, we got suspicious glances. They were worse this time though, since we were actually waiting in line this time and not just going straight to the bathroom.

I knew Melanie wasn't gonna want to talk to the cashier, she's very shy around people she doesn't know. Now more than ever. I was too, but we hadn't drank much water in the past few days. One old woman was, however, nice enough to give us a full bottle of water, which we both drank quickly.

"One water bottle please." I said to the woman at the register.

She stared at me long and hard before saying with an attitude, "You can't order here unless you're over eighteen and.." she looked at us up and down, "Neither of you are obviously eighteen. So, if you would, please leave. Oh, and stop using our bathroom." She said.

Melanie and I just stared at her for a second. Just before I was going to leave, Melanie spoke up and said, "And where does it say that I can't order here. Why do we have to be eighteen to buy a bottle of water? It's not even like we're trying to buy some wine or something. You don't even sell that here. I want to talk to your manager."

The cashier was silent. Her and Melanie were having a death stare contest."That'll be 3 pounds." She said.

We paid her the money then left the cafe. It was late, so we ate the last of our bread and peanut butter and drank out water. We knew that we should have saved the last pieces of food, but we started with so little in the first place, it would have been very hard to save any food.

"Let's get to sleep I guess.." I said.

"Yeah. It's even later than usual for us, and we have to find a new place to get ready in the morning before we start playing." Melanie said while putting on the jacket again and laying back down on the bench.

"Good night Melanie.."

"Good night Olive"

--------------------

"Um, hello? Why are you two sleeping on benches?" Said a voice.

"Yeah, it's really cold, and all you have on is lots of ripped clothes, and a jacket..you don't even have on shoes!" said another voice. I opened my eyes. I was very tired and could hardly open my eyes, so I don't know if what I thought I saw was real but..

In front of me was none other than Daniel James Howell and Philip Michael Lester.
