A/N

HAI, before I continue with the story, I'm just gonna make it clear that I may start going back and forth between Diana and April's POV, and Olive and Melanie's POV. When the chapters have April and Diana as the main POVs, it's probably going to be back in time a little unless I say otherwise.

LET US CONTINUE.

---------------------------------------------------------

Diana's POV

I walked into the small office with April at the back of the orchestra room. Everyone in the main part of the room was talking and playing very loudly, so loudly that I couldn't even hear mine or April's playing - and April was right in front of me! I would be able to hear her better in here.

"This is better," Said April.

"I agree." I said.

April has dirty blonde hair that's naturally wavy (although she straightens it a lot), and has brown eyes. Today she was wearing an awesome shirt that said, 'No Boyfriend, No Problems.' She has light skin, and is about 5 feet tall, like Olive, Melanie and I.

Speaking of Olive and Melanie, they aren't here today, which is weird, because even if they don't have phones, they usually email me from their computers or something if they're going to be absent, but they didn't this time. I know that they're fine though, they probably just forgot. They are pretty forgetful after all.

April and I sat down in two chairs facing each other, and we put our music on some stands. She was playing her Violin, Pablo, and I was playing my Viola, Steve.

We practiced for about 10 minutes, then the bell rang, dismissing us to our third period.

Then another bell rang.

And another.

Now we're in 5th period, which is everyone's favorite class - mostly because of our teacher, Mrs. James, because she is awesome.

April and I walked in first, and we sat down next to each other. They everyone else took their seats and talked for a while, then she walked in and yelled, "WHY  DO I HEAR TALKING? YOU KNOW WHAT YOU'RE SUPPOSED TO BE DOING. GET OUT YOUR BOOK AND READ." She may have just screamed at us, but we know she still loves us. She sat down at her desk, then said, "If the person who sits next to you is absent, raise your hand and tell me who."

Olive and Melanie sit next to each other, and they're both absent, so I raised my hand for them and said, "Melanie and Olive are absent."

Mrs. James looked at me for a while, not the mean kind of look either, just...a look. It looked almost sad. I couldn't understand why she would be sad however if I said their names though. Did she really like them that much to be this sad if they were absent?

Then April spoke up and said, "Where are they anyway?"

She was quiet for a moment and looked at everyone around us to see if anyone else knew. "Does no body else know what happened?" Mrs. James said. Everyone shook their heads no. "Oh..I see. Uh, everyone, put your books down, I need to tell you something."

Everyone put down their books and exchanged worried glances.

I looked at Mrs. James. Her eyes were watering a little bit. That's not a good sign, she never shows negative emotions of sadness..

"Alright. Everyone.." She started, "Saturday night, Olive and Melanie went with their mothers to a phone store, where their mothers got new cell phones. Olive and Melanie had been wandering around the store, a-and I would just like to kind of put out there that the store was only about twice the size of this classroom, and uh, they were wandering around the store, and.." She sniffled a little bit. "When their mothers were done, they called the girls, and they didn't answer. They looked around the store, and all they found was a red bow that Melanie had put in her hair. Their mothers asked the store to look at the security camera footage and....on the tape it showed a man dressed in all black with a ski mask on...he knocked the girls unconscious and took them to god knows where...t-they were kidnapped.." She finished.

I couldn't believe what I had just heard.

My best friends got kidnapped.. How did their mothers not notice the absence of their children?!

I looked around me. People were crying. Even Mrs. James.

All their friends were crying...their enemies...their boyfriends too..

In between silent sobs, Mrs. James managed to say, "If you need to get a drink of water or you need to just sit in the hallway you can..."

Just about everyone in the room left, still crying. That included April and I. We sat down in the hallway and just cried into each other's shoulders. I've had close friends move before, and that was sad enough, but I could get over it quite easily, because usually we could still text, or call, or skype, but..this is different. How do I know if they're even still alive?

In the hallway, I texted my mother and told her about what I had just learned about my friend, and she asked if she wanted me to pick April and I up early from school. I said yes.

-------

April's POV

For the next few days, I stayed at Diana's house, and we didn't go to school. Instead, we just cried. We hardly even ate, nor slept, nor smiled. We couldn't. Sometimes though, we would smile, like when we go through pictures that we'd taken with Olive and Melanie, and we would talk about the things that we had all done. Those smiles soon turned into sobs again.

We had missed four days of school, and I hadn't slept in my own room for 5 days. My mom made me go back home, and on Monday, I had to go to school again.

Monday came sooner than expected.

There wasn't as many people crying, but there also wasn't as many happy people.

At recess, me, Diana, Maye, Luna, Emily, and their boyfriends, Alex (Olive's boyfriend) and Lucas (Melanie's boyfriend) just sit at our usual table and try to talk as though nothing was happening, although it usually doesn't work and everyone just stares at the sky or ground.

"SO..um, who else is running for student council?" Emily said. She was always trying to make people happy if they were feeling down, and it pretty much always worked. Even now kind of.

Emily has oddly tanned skin, short but thick light brown hair, brown eyes, and is about my height.

Diana has brown hair that goes down to her waist, blueish-green eyes, somewhat tanned skin, and is like an inch taller than me.

Maye and Luna are identical twins. They have dark brown hair that falls just below their shoulders, light brown eyes, tanish skin, and are pretty short.

Nothing else was said during that recess. No one even answered Emily's question.

It was 6th period now, and we still had Mrs. James as our teacher.

Diana and I had a lot of make-up work to do, including an entire project in science, a test in history, and 3 homework pages in math.

The weekend finally rolled around again, and I got to rest. When I went to church that Sunday, I prayed for them, and my parents did too. They scheduled a meeting with the pastor for me in hope that it would help a bit. He suggested that I continue to see him, but that I should also go to therapy.

Life just keeps getting better...(not).
