Ghastly and foreboding accurately described the shadow that the building cast as it appeared before her, mist snaking around the stone walls. She felt as if they had stepped on the grounds of Hogwarts, although the building seemed majestic the location itself was dull, dreary, mysterious and isolated in the mountains. She could only stare with clouded eyes, her friend clinging off her arm. She recalled the first thing a footman said when they arrived by carriage, 'You will only be welcomed if you can make it.'Angelique had no idea what was in store for her, let alone her dear friend Lily, yet they still proceeded across the bridge and felt the vibration as the heavy gates closed and locked behind them with a thud, a thud that resonated off of the stonewalls surrounding the Academy. Angelique peered over the rail-less edge at the never-ending chasm below the stone bridge. With a shiver she glanced at Lily and could see the goose bumps raise across her friends strong tanned shoulders, she then looked down at her own arms, smaller, pale but hairs stood on end just the same. They cautiously made their way forward and soon the mist began to fade, allowing the dark outlines to become visible, and looming from behind them was a towering marble statue. Angelique fixated her eyes on the statue, it was a kind of bird ...no a phoenix, with one claw raised and stone cold eyes staring down at the dark outlines, which could now be made out as human figures, below.
The relief they felt when their feet hit solid ground. They had successfully crossed the bridge and now found themselves in a prodigious area, looking directly up at the towering stone building with many windows. A chime echoed from atop the building, the two females glanced up to see a church like bell. The wind began to pick up, stirring up Lily's loose auburn hair and trying to loosen Angelique's thick, brunette hair from the hair tie. They moved forward steadily but cautiously, observing the faces of the individuals as they passed; men and women of all race and size, all brooding, and some cradling weapons. Lily's eyes narrowed at the unfamiliar faces, her arms tensed, making her grip on Angelique, tighten.
"Stay close to me." Angelique instructed her dear friend, protecting her, not because she needed it, but out of habit. There were two men up ahead, talking to one another in low voices. The first man stopped, injected something into the veins on his wrist, and then preceded conversing words too quite to hear.
"Angel... is this where we are staying?" Lily looked up with innocent hazel eyes; Angelique knew she was strong, but far to pure to be in what was rumored as the birthplace of imperilment among young but incredible individuals. Although these were people, they gave off menacing auras, females and males alike. Lily was glancing around at the individuals curiously yet cautiously whilst Angelique simply prepared herself for what could come."Do not make eye contact, Lily." She tried to imply, but Lily had already accidentally, bumped into the broad back of a tall, dark-haired, male individual.
"Ah! Sorry..." She quickly composed herself and apologised but not before the male individual decided otherwise and spun around with a raised clenched hand. Within a few seconds he brought down his fist, Angelique thinking fast threw herself in front of her friend and swiftly grabbed his wrist, blocking the heavy blow with ease. She was confidant in her swordsmanship and martial arts skills, but the minute she let go to check on Lily, whom quietly stepped to the side, the male went for another unsuspected blow directly towards Lily, only this time he added brass knuckles. Angelique dived yet again in the line of fire and shoved Lily aside, taking the impact to her shoulder causing her to wince but she didn't show it. She narrowed her crystal blue eyes dangerously, and faced the male, noting he had someone beside him, but whoever he or she were their face was shadowed by a hoodie and they just stood blankly and accepted what had just happened."Hitting a female after she accidentally bumped into you is not going to resolve anything." Angelique took a step forward.
"...She deserved it." He simply stated after a minute, and then turned to walk away with his silent companion. Swiftly, she slid in front of his path forcing him to stop in his tracks. Lily followed cautiously. Taking his companion into consideration, Angelique did an once-over, coming to a conclusion it was a he who was wearing the hoodie. Unable to make out a face, her eyes trailed down and noticed the shiny tip of a sharp blade, glinting in his right hand, an assassin blade. She knew an assassin blade when she saw one and she knew it meant danger and stealth. With caution she drew her eyes back to Lily's dark-haired predator and approached him.
